Slightly OT: Game used jersey question

IF you were able to get your hands game used Jersey, and meet up with the player to have it signed would you? Or would you rather have it unsigned.
then, would you frame it, or keep it loose.
    just looking for opinions really.

I think it depends on what you're doing with it in the future, I'd like to get my game used Ovie skates and Auto'd jersey framed, just to make em look nice, and that would probably raise the value of them in the future if I ever sold them, which I probably never will :)

I've got my Josh Gorges game used gloves signed. If I were to ever get a gamer, not sure if I would get him to sign them or not. It's one of those tough decisions too about getting them framed - you'll only be able to see half the jersey and either way you're missing out on the full display. Unless you get one of those cases that doesn't get wall-mounted.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Here is the question that I have been asked more times than I can remember. Does the value of a game used item increase if it gets signed?
I always answer this way, and the same to the OP's original question, get it signed or not?

On a value standpoint, I say no. It is no longer original. The player did not wear it signed, thus the "game used" has changed.
From a collector's standpoint, it is up the the collector.
We personally will never purchase and autographed game used item. We like to keep all of our items as "authentic" as possible.

But the question will always be like the original question, and IMO the answer is always the same. Completely depends on the collector that owns the item.

I would consider getting the fight strap signed but I don't think I would get the jersey or number signed.

The true sentiment continues to be rung throughout this thread. Signing a game-used jersey is a huge faux-pas that is greatly frowned upon by many a collector. I refuse to purchase game-used jerseys if they are signed because like many people have said, they have been altered.

When it comes to sticks, or other equipment, the line is a lot more grey. With jerseys though...I would never do it.

hmm, i beg to differ with you guys. I have about 4 providence bruins gamers (reich, marchand, kampfer, sauve) an all of them i get signed on the back jersey number. Now i know its not the NHL but the jersey is still game worn, just because the player signed it doesnt mean its not game worn any more. I would much rather look at a signed gamer than a reg one. Plus it makes showing it off at the games tht much better haha.

the only way id be all for it is at the games where they do it for charity. Last game of the season and what not. If i won a jersey and they took it off their back and signed it,. then yes that would be cool...
