Thoughts on a new PC player/Project
So, after all of OEL's stuff going for 20% more at least than what I bought it for and pushing most of it out of my price range, I'm looking for a new PC. Now, I'm going to post up some players, and as well as some pros and cons. I'll take some input too.
Christian Thomas - Rangers' 2nd round pick in 2010
Even though he has yet to play a game, I think if I were to start one up right now it'd be him. I actually came across him playing HUT in NHL 12 as he was in my starting pack, but always on my first line because I could score so often with him...
Pros: Offensive upside, unique connection to the player
Cons: Has yet to play a game in the NHL, on New York = expensive possibly
Notes: If there is a full lockout, he'll go under the radar of the other rookies coming out.
Jaden Schwartz - Blues' 1st rounder in 2010
Offensive power house. 2 goals, 3 points in 7 NHL games.
Pros: Future great prospect, possibly slides under the radar with Tarasenko
Cons: If people start to catch on to him... not a chance I can pc him
Jordan Martinook - Coyotes' 2nd rounder in 2012
Played for the Giants, love his play style, think he's got what it takes to be insane.
Pros: Keeps getting better, under the radar in Phoenix
Cons: Hasn't played a game yet
Mikael Granlund - Wild 1st rounder in 2010
Doesn't need an explanation.
Pros: Insane skill
Cons: Top rookie
Matthew Dumba - Wild 1st Rounder in 2012
Love the play style. Love it.
Pros: Favourite type of play style
Cons: Not yet in the league
Kevin Connauton - Canucks' 3rd Rounder in 2009
Continuing with the Giants players, have always and will always like him. Awesome player on and off the ice
Pros: Favourite team, huge skill
Cons: Canucks fans and their money to spend on cards
Jonathon Huberdeau - Florida 1st Rounder in 2011
This kid led his team to a Mem Cup and love his play style.
Pros: Great player, not a popular hockey team
Cons: What if people stay with him...
Tyson Sexsmith
Goalie who led the Giants to the Mem Cup, and I would like to have a Sexy PC
All of the above (except Sexsmith and Schwartz) are depending on the season happening/not 100% making it, so this is where I need help finding some recent players to pursue who are in the NHL. I want a player with few PCers, but that has good talent and a few cards, but not a boatload ;) one from 2010/11 to now is preferred because I like Panini products, but not a determining factor. Give me your players!
As far as projects go.... I have a few I've thought of:
A rookie of every goalie of each year starting from 2010/11: I think this would be kind of cool and different, being able to afford some better cards for some players, and who knows, maybe they are the next Quick ;)
Sakic/Yzerman mini PC (4 cards each): Thought of doing this one, first card will be here on the 17th, but I'd get a nicely designed insert, a nice GU piece, an auto and a rookie of both, with them being around the 1/1 dual auto :)
So I need help, let me know :)

Dont do the Schwartz - For good reasons :P
Grandlund would be a good option. I mean he does play in Minnesota!

If you decide to collect Granlund cards, prepare for a huge competition. His Finnish card set cards already sells for big bucks.

Granlund could have very high prices along with Huberdeau despite playing in bad markets
I think Shwartz if he plays well, could have a big cult following (i.e Jeff Skinner) which means high prices.
I feel the same way about Dumba people may flock to him because of his exiting style of play
As for the other guys on your list:
Martinook, Sexsmith, Connauton, and Thomas
I would pick Connauton he will fly under the radar (Not a big name) but could turn out to be a stud he is the PP Quarterback of the Canucks future
The guys not on your list that you should collect who have tons of potential but are unknown and cheap right now:
10-11
Dana Tyrell
Matt Martin
Luke Adam
Jamie McBain <<<<<<<<
11-12
Brett Bulmer <<<<<<<
Justin Faulk
Colin Greening
Brayden McNabb
Those are my thoughts

I'm a huge Connauton fan. Been following him since drafted and remember the impact he had. I'd PC Justin Faulk over McBain, and as good as Bulmer is, he'd be a bit more of a challenge w/ the titanium RC, although it is very likely that it won't be too much... Faulk is a good choice too...

I used to live in Kamloops and Connouton used to absolutely torch the Blazers every time we played his team

I'd say either Dumba or Connauton, defenceman don't get the hobby love they deserve therefore you will be able to get their cards for cheaper then guys like Schwartz, Granlund, Huberdeau etc... I remember at one point I had a very cool Bieksa PC but ended up selling everything to start Stamkos lol, maybe it was a mistake, but I am still very happy as to where I am with the Stamkos PC. In a few years or maybe as soon as their rookie year, those 3 forwards I mentioned above won't be affordable if you want to become a super collector.
