how to display a hockey jersey
wasn't too sure where to post this, but I'll hope here is okay. I've had a Gil Perreault jersey signed by the French Connection for several years, and I want to display it. So i recently bought a display case for it, and hung it up. I'm worried about fading though. It's not in direct sunlight, but naturally the room has windows lol Is it worth it to get museum glass to place over the top to protect the signatures? Any advice? thanks!

Most of the ink degradation will occur due to sunlight (more direct = more fading) but I expect you might get some fading with other forms of light as well and that includes reflected light. So if it's your "pride and joy" and you intend to admire it for years to come, I'd invest some bucks for proper glass and protect the signatures. I made the mistake of hanging a personally autographed picture in my office and failed to keep an eye on it...somewhere in the 5+ years I had it there, the signature entirely disappeared. It was in a well-lit office space w/o exposure to much direct sunlight.

oh alright, the frame was a present, so I'm looking to see if I can just replace the glass with museum quality glass. thanks for the info!
