what to collect?
my brother, having been gone for a while, wants to start collecting again. we do not have a card shop even near us where we live. Having said that, we get all the cards from walmart or meijer. are there any boxes that they carry that are better than the others you would suggest for him. also what about indvidual packs. Something that holds value. maybe autos and game used. any suggestions for him?

Ebay is seriously the best way to start. You can get boxes on there for relatively cheap too. Thats how I got my little brother started, and how I got myself started... But we do have a card shop around here, which is always a plus.

Stay away from buying retail (ie. Walmart or Meijer). Get your boxes on-line. If you get a 'hobby' box vs. a 'retail' box, the odds of you pulling good stuff (GU, AUTO, etc) go up a lot. Buying unopened packs on line is not good (since they could be filtered through), so stick with buying unopened boxes on line.
