E-Bay and PWE - Your Thoughts?

I'm just curious about people's thoughts on E-Bay and using a Plain White Envelope to ship the items in. Now hear me out, the items are in person or through the mail autographs (no certified or jersey cards) and the shipping is FREE (using a penny sleeve, top loader and team bag still, though.

Just wondering if it's still a no-no or if it's free shipping, then you take a risk on what it's sent in?

    Thanks!

I think if I'm paying for a card < $20 and it gets to me in the condition it was promised then no harm no foul, now a card above $20, especially w/ some of you hockey guys w/ you 1/1 $600 card, then I expect a bubble mailer, extra top loaders decoy cards, team bags, card board, registered mail, USPS tracking and a mailman delivering it to my house carrying a briefcase w/ a handcuff attached to his hand! :p

I think if it gets to you unharmed it doesn't matter if they tied it to a pigeon's leg. However, I'm going to be a much nicer guy if it's damaged in a bubble/cushion than if it's damaged in a PWE.

I now ship for Free on eBay.

I use a PWE, I use 20 Guage cardboard, and surround the top loader. I tape the card to the inside. I tape all edges and seams of the card. Card ships to Canada for $1.05 as opposed to $3.00-$3.15.

    It's too unaffordable,

Now if some lunatics are charging you over $3.00 for a PWE not secure like mine, then you have reason to complain. I am at times only making 50-75 cents per low-end card, but I am not gouging when shipping with a Re-Inforced PWE, I am shipping for free.

Okay for me if it's just bases or cheap cards but not thicker ones or memorabilia cards...

Some tends to use a very cheap and thinner version of toploader and with no extra added protection and sending just with a PWE...

if its free shipping and under $20 I normally don't care to much about a PWE. But I once got a card I paid $400 with free shipping in a PWE and it was completely destroyed when it got to me. Seller said shipping was free and refused a refund. I just left a negative and made a Paypal claim. It all depends on value of the card really.
