WARNING: Fake Roy Nelson Topps Autos floating around
From https://twitter.com/roynelsonmma/sta...97611210797056

This signature is real. Apparently, Roy ALWAYS hand numbers the stickers he does.
Both of these are fake because they only read 'Big Country' and aren't hand-numbered on the sticker...

Fake Number One

Fake Number Two
Also, according to Nelson in the twitter conversation above, his contract only gave permission to Topps to use in its 2009 products...
Keep your eyes peeled, either Topps is pulling an Upper Deck by counterfeiting its own products or someone stole blank Topps Certified Auto holo-stickers and they may pop up elsewhere. Spread the word...

Nice to hear a fighter actually talk about this, I'm sure I'm not the only one whose noticed some big discrepancies in some some fighter's autos from release to release. I get that Topps may stock up a crap load of a particular fighters sig and use that over multiple releases but this is really bad, I see no reason why Big Country would lie and would love to hear Topps side of this f'ed up story.

Just a weird story... I like BC, but why would they want to forge his signature? Other fighters I can see, but he definately doesn't make or break a set. I do love watching him fight though...

What about his TUF set autos? Those were on-card autographs...are those real?

I dunno man. If Topps was in the business of forgeries, they would have sent out tons of unfulfilled redemption requests that people are always complaining about. To risk their reputation and even a class-action lawsuit on having a guy sign "Big Country" a few hundred times? I don't think so.

Yeah, something about all of this seems fishy. And have you guys gone to the Roy Nelson website where you can buy his autographs? They might be real, but they are over 90 bucks plus shipping...I doubt he's selling many if any at all.

Woa, 90 bucks? Now that I did not know, and that explains a lot. Perhaps Mr. Nelson might have regretted a previous business agreement with Topps. And I don't know the guy, but for some reason, I don't trust him (believe me, it has nothing to do with perceived work ethic or being a completely one-dimensional fighter in UFC) and that $90 price tag says a lot about what he thinks of himself.
On a related note - I would imagine its rather embarrassing for a fighter to find out his "coveted" autograph sells for $1-10 on eBay (think of how many there are!). I wonder if some of these fighters regret signing deals with the card companies when they discover fans pay more for bottled water than their signature.
