    Graded Autos

Just lost respect for all graded autos when looking at this auction.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-11-Uppe...item2ec2206990

As an owner of JTs autos, this has to be one of the worst autos I have seen. Something signed as he was passing through a lobby for example.
So the grade is based on clarity and flow of the ink and not the actual signature.

I dunno, I kinda like it myself, it looks "natural" maybe?

JT could have scribble some more on the card to make it look less like his initial. He even did a better job with the autos on the jerseys they gave out to season ticket holders.

You are correct in how they assess the autographs. It's not based on how "good" the autograph looks compared to other signatures, but moreso the quality of the inking actually done. It's pretty tough to get less than a 10 on the autograph portion on a brand-new, fresh auto unless the pen was near the end of the life cycle or the tip came up during the signing.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Basically he could have drawn an X, long as the ink was solid, it's a 10. Wonder if they charge extra to grade the auto ?
Now that would be a complete joke.
On my to do list, take a base card, make my own X, send to beckett experts for grading.

If an auto is running off of a sticker they'll grade the card down.

Atleast that will look better then some of the scribbles players have done to get away from fans.
