Looking for some PC opinions
Hey SCF members, I'm going through a bit of a collection dilemma now and I was hoping to get a couple opinions. I just started to collect cards again this year, haven't since the mid 90's when I was a child, but I'm still a student so the extent of my collections goes as far as a James Sheppard PC, the occasional box of Series 1 & Series 2 and anything I can get for a decent price off ebay. Now getting to the dilemma:
Back in March I decided I was going to try and collect the entire set of Crown Royale Rookie Silhouettes thinking that over time it wouldn't be too difficult, but of course Rookie Anthology came out and added an extra 10 Rookie Silhouettes. Lovely, but at the same time wallet crunching. At this point in time I currently own Silhouette's of Zibanejad, Connolly, Couturier, Landeskog, Gudbranson, and Larsson (with a Johansen incomming), but I've come to the point where I'm realizing I'll never be able to dish out $500+ on a Nugent-Hopkins. I'm also realizing that I enjoy set collecting more and I was kind of disappointed that the Silhouettes didn't include guys like Scheifele or Lack. I'm at the point now where I'm considering selling off the Silhouettes I have to collect a complete set of rookies from a different collection and was wondering which collection I should go for; Rookie Treasures, Prime Quads, Certified Die-cut, Future Watch Autos?
What I'm looking for is something that will relatively hold its value, looks nice in hand, and has a variety of this years rookies. Should I just keep the Silhouettes (since they're so frigging nice) and accept that I'll never finish the product? Or move on to a cheaper card set? Sorry for the ramble, let me know what you think!

Contenders look great this year IMO, and I bet the Nuge can be had for the $100ish range. Ive been contemplating doing this set for awhile now.
My favorite designed rookie card this year though would have to be the Luxury Suite Rookies /99, IMO its a perfect card, minus the sticker auto =(
You did mention being disappointed with no Lack Silhouette, and if he's a guy you'd really like to have in the set, it basically crosses off every UD set as his only UD Au RC is The Cup

FW would be my suggestion too, but the contenders could be done on a more consevatibve budget and they are a clean hard signed card as well. Not too mention selling the silhoettes would give you a heck of a good start for the cash required to build either of those sets.

Contenders is what I'd go with. It's cheaper, and you have player like Lack and Hagelin as autos. It's all personal preference, but if you are on a budget, Contenders is what I'd go with!

Thanks for the input guys. I just came across a "Day with the Cup" card of Tyler Seguin, so that should give me a chunk of money to start off with a decent amount of either future watch or contender rookie auto's then if I ever manage to build up enough courage to sell my silhouettes I thinnk I'll try and collect all of the Rookie Treasure auto. Canucksfan you're right about the luxury suite though, very nice looking card but for some weird reason I've always like vertical cards more than horizontal.
