Unfortunately everyone can't get a Gretzky or Crosby or Orr or Nugent-Hopkins everytime. You got what would have been reasonably expected. Not sure why everyone figures they should get the moon on these replacements all the time. Don't like the results, then don't gamble on wax. There is no guarantee in a case of even getting one or more of the top rookie autos or anything else.

lol. I think people are started to expect a bit too much from some of the replacements seen in the S&T forum. They're not going to be home runs every time.
Those are some solid hits. Eakins looks like he could make an impact in the NHL next year as a 2nd year pro, and Hartikainen looks to be a nice contrast/complement player to the talented Oilers forwards ala Holmstrom.

I'd complain to UD about the replacements. They might be generous and send you a dual SOTT with Matt Stajan and Brendan Mikkelson, which is pretty much the most coveted card in the whole product release.

Upper Deck sure has turned into a bunch of crooks. I mean, the nerve of this company, sending you the contents of an average box to replace the missing contents of an average box. Disgusting.

Panini is no better. I sent in a box with no hits at all for Contenders this year. All I got was Base cards. They did not send me any Serial # rookies, No Serial # Subset cards. Just 3 Scrub Auto Rookies. Cost me $15 to send it to them the Box serial # register mail.

WOW! That cost you more money than what you got plus cost of your box for that id be all over them for that. When its the companys fault as in not giving any hits in a box I should expect to get a hodgson, zibanejad, gardiner, read, leblanc, ect fwa. Im not looking for a patch auto or crosby just something to make it worth it. If I recieve one of those Im satisfied.Flickr: Hidden Content

Eakin was traded for a lot, and had a very solid junior career, but there is a difference between promise as a young player and having hobby value sadly.
That's likely never going to be worth any significant value unless he blows away expectations. The SPA rookie autos of everyday 2nd and 3rd line players is all but worthless sadly.
Guys like Gudbranson, Cowen, Larsson, etc. are a few examples of some recent young players that have tons of promise with pretty weak value considering their top end potential and draft spot. That list is very long sadly.
To have good value you need to be drafted high and produce offensively or have good rookie years on a popular team, i.e. a guy like Read, Kadri, Paajarvi, Leblanc, etc.

You'd think they could at least give you an extra dime-a-dozen auto to at least appear to be going above and beyond.
First they screw up the packaging and give you no hits, then make you wait 3 months (which lowers the value of the cards they send back from poor to completely awful), and then don't even give you anything different than what should have been in the box.
Oh well, UD is at the point they just do the bare minimum to get by...

Better than what I pulled in my box of SPA.

I agree that UD missed a chance to make an unsatisfied customer into a happy FAN! Every chance they get to directly interact with a customer should be used to go beyond expectations. It wouldn't take much - extra autos, maybe a nice hit. Just doing the minimum of delivering the contents of a very average box is a poor decision. Should you expect more? Not really, but UD should deliver more and thereby ensure you are posting about how good they are rather than how disappointed you were. UD just seems to be waiting around for bankruptcy at this point.
