The Real Romney Record as Governor
-I thought I would share this letter written by a private citizen who happens to be a cop.
"Hello,My name is Robert Welsh ( Tory's Hubby) and I am writing this not to the people who are fans of President Obama.I am however writing this to the people who have yet to make a decision on who they are voting for or are leaning toward Mitt Romney.Let me begin by stating that I worked as a Police Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 18 years, including while Mitt Romney was the Governor.
Now,to begin with I will state that I am an Independent Voter and have no party to promote but I do know Mitt Romney and I have a warning to those who will listen.
You have probably heard the Romney Camp talk about how as Governor,Romney took a state that was deep in debt and turned it into a surplus.I bet you what you don't know is how Romney accomplished this great feat !.I am here to tell how Romney did
it.Mitt Romney became Governor and went to work on how to balance the budget and like most politicians,he knew that cuts to the budget were in order. This is not a huge surprise ,sounds like good economical sense,Right ?.So,where do you think Romney
might makes these cuts ?.Did Romney go after the robust transit authority ?.Did he go after the Turnpike Authority with their hugely over paid executives who were heavily entwined in political connections ?.No,Mitt romney did not.
Mitt Romney instead decided that he would go after the easiest budget that he could target, namely the human services budget. The budget that paid for services and care of people such as ; The mentally ill,the mentally retarded, and the handicapped. You see,Mitt Romney views these people as a zero return investment.People who are mentally retarded or suffer from mental illness take money from the state and do not produce anything ,they do not pay taxes and they certainly do not VOTE !.In Romney's view, these people are takers. So,Mitt Romney went to these divisions ( The D.M.R. and the D.M.H ) and told them that he was cutting their budgets across the board and it was up to the Divisions to decide what they would cut in services to reach the percentage that he had cut.Of course these divisions ended up cutting the the work force, which left the ratio of providers to Clients (the people with the disability) to a
level where the quality of the Clients life suffered greatly. The divisions also had to cut services to these people.Services like education, health care and community interaction.Romney then turned around and decided that if closed (Privatized ) the
institutions he could save a bundle, so he pushed for these individuals to be into private "Group Homes" run by companies instead of the state. You may think that this
sounds like a great idea but it wasn't.
The reason this move was not a good idea is that the individuals who moved into these "Group Homes" weren't given a choice as to if they wanted to move.Remember how well forced relocation worked for the Indians, but what they heck, these people
could barely speak, never mind fight for themselves.Imagine,if you can, that you are a 50 something mentally challenged person whom has lived in a community with a group of people almost all your life and then are taken from your home and friends
and placed somewhere with strangers and all you knew was gone, the very routine that you lived your life by gone !.I can imagine that if that were me,I would be pretty scared and very angry.Mitt Romney Did balance the budget, but he did it upon the backs of those whom he knew could not offer up the slightest bit of resistance and a population that most people would rather turn their backs on anyway.
So,if you think that Mitt Romney is your guy, then think about if you want someone who is just interested in "the bottom line" and views people as assets and liabilities.Think of some other people in history who thought forced relocation of a populations was politically a "good call".If all I mentioned has yet to make you nervous, lets move onto some other "Romneyisms" that will wiggle your toes.
Romney talks about getting America back to work, creating more jobs, but as result of the afore mentioned budget in the human services budgets, there were huge lay offs of State employees. Most of these people were people whom dedicated their lives in
the care of others for little pay. Some of them had worked for 30 years and now were over 50,and out of work and basically unemployable. Some others had just short of 20 years of service and on the cusp of securing their retirements, and had the door shut
on them. All of this led to swiftly climbing unemployment rate when Romney cut bait and ran from Massachusetts.I know Mitt Romney,I was a Republican, and I VOTED FOR Mitt Romney ONCE !.I would never again repeat that mistake. So my friends, I beg you, look at what your buying because the package you get, might contain a time bomb in Mitt Romney.
I am going to vote this November, I am going to vote for a man whom I honestly believe to the very core of my heart is a man of honor, integrity, and has a heart that feels for all people, not just the ones who are politically viable.I am voting for Barack Obama, I know that he understands words like sacrifice, suffering, and hard work and was not born with a silver spoon stuck in some orifice of his body.

as i said i can't disagree with what he said about romney
but
i do disagree about what he said about obama
perhaps the point of the letter was to make obama look good, if not why add the personal feelings about obama and stick to facts about romney? why not keep it fact based?
[QUOTE]I am going to vote for a man whom I honestly believe to the very core of my heart is a man of honor, integrity, and has a heart that feels for all people, not just the ones who are politically viable.I[QUOTE]
it would have been better if he had just stuck to the facts.

Almost as funny as someone wanting a straight, on topic, non-Obama bashing answer from one of them.

This is what gets me me. I have provide numerous articles thoughts and/or opinions on Romney. and The teapublicans cannot see to defend him in any sort expect to bash and hate Obama. Which I find quite funny. My intent was to show a few of things that their good candidate did with in public office. Ok well thats all well and good i guess i will go back to bashing him.
