Exploring Hockey Related Revenue
The National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players Association have been doing battle over Hockey Related Revenue for months due to the owners wanting to limit what the players get. In the meantime, the players want more.
I have worked in businesses for years, and have yet to see businesses give employees over 50% of profits and revenue they bring in. These monies are for re-investing in the business, and to have cash on hand for day to day operating expenses. In the NHL, they bring in alot of revenue, and have decided to share what is brought in every season.

Its true I do not know of any business that gives its employee's 50% of Revenue. The players get 50%, then the owners still have to shell out for there travel expenses, stipends when they are on the road, Hotels, Trainers, coaches, GM's AGMS's, Assistant coaches, the concession stand workers, Ushers, Rink rentals, The Zamboni Driver, the security staff, advertising, insurance and a ton of other expenses. This is the one of the reasons some teams operate in the Red. Maybe the players should pay 50% of the expenses? Sounds fair to me.
