The whole "fish is not meat" can be traced, you're going to love this, veg, to the Catholic Church. It's bad to eat meat on Fridays, but they allowed fish. That's where the confusion starts.
The bolded part was simple medical fact. My mom is a wannabe vegetarian. If it was up to her shed never eat meat, for health reasons, she doesn't see eating meat as a moral issue, but my dad will have none of it. So I know the health issues related to meat, as I've had them thrown at me my whole life.

It's the same reason that fast food restaurants with daily deals always make the fish sandwich Friday's deal.

I worked at McDonalds (not one of the kitchens I mentioned, just a job I had before) when they had daily deals. Friday was fish day. They still didn't sell well. You start to notice things about the entire industry.
