Finn fantastic
Toronto Maple Leafs fans nervous about their blueline need only look to the future for a little excitement.
Earlier this week, 2012 first-rounder (fifth overall) Morgan Rielly gained some attention by scoring this nifty goal (apologies for the grainy video), but he’s not the only defenseman picked by the Leafs last summer who is creating a stir on offense.

Don't forget Gardiner, Gybers, and Holzer.
The thing is which of them will make it to the Leafs as regulars? Gardiner is obvious. He already made it last season. Reilly looks like a stud and should make it. Finn has been extremely impressive. The Leafs will need to balance youth and veterans on defense in the next couple years if they want to be successful.

Holzer will get his shot when the lockout ends, he could be a decent defensive guy who doesn't light up the score sheet, which many of our other defensive prospects seem to be, and Gardiner has already made the cut as far as I'm concerned. I'm not as optimistic about Gybers, but he seems to be off to a good start this year in the A. Projecting forward, I'm thinking one of Gardiner, Blacker, Rielly, or Finn are very likely to act as juicy trade bait at some point. We have a log-jam of high-ceiling, offensively-minded puck-moving defensemen... life is rough... too many hyphenated expressions.
