2012 Republican Platform
as a conservative I associate myself with republicans, but I find myself agreeing less and less with them, but on the other hand I often do not agree with democrats.
here is a link to the official 2012 republican platform.

some good stuff, but also some stuff not so good.
Preserving and Protecting Traditional Marriage
they start off by making me wince, really your number one goal is to fight gay marriage?????? this i am very disappointed with. i would much rather see them addressing employer requirements, taxes, and other specific rights within gay marriage. work those out and legalize it, enough already.
Creating a Culture of Hope: Raising Families Beyond Poverty
good idea, but needs better plans, and why even bring up obamacare?
Adoption and Foster Care
only issue here is why mention faith based programs?
Making the Internet Family-Friendly
agree with some of it, more agencies to monitor it, but internet gambling i am unsure where i stand on it
Advancing Americans with Disabilities
stand by this 100%
Repealing Obamacare
this is a time waster, why not clean it up??? it has some great stuff just needs some tweaks
Our Prescription for American Healthcare: Improve Quality and Lower Costs
again, tweak obamacare
Ensuring Consumer Choice in Healthcare
again, tweak obamacare
Supporting Federal Healthcare Research and Development
do i need to say it again?
Protecting Individual Conscience in Healthcare
and again?
Reforming the FDA
sound good, but would need some details here
Reducing Costs through Tort Reform
this could be drafted into obamcare somehow
Education: A Chance for Every Child
agree with
Attaining Academic Excellence for All
i can agree with this
Consumer Choice in Education
can't agree with their approach to prevention of unwanted pregnancies
Improving Our Nation’s Classrooms
can agree with this
Addressing Rising College Costs
agree
Justice for All: Safe Neighborhoods and Prison Reform

Some of their ideas look good on paper but the GOP has 0 credibility with me. I'm going to take my chances with President Obama than go with the republicans who have a proven track record of not caring about anyone but their own.

After Romney's campaign I'm pretty convinced the GOP will say anything to get elected then do whatever they want anyway.

jay I wanted to address a few thoughts on this
Adoption and Foster Care-In part a GOP answer to abortion. But they havent backed in up. They would offer large tax breaks to work with this...
Repealing Obamacare we agree here (I know Shocking) Need to measure things properly and find the best way to contain costs.
Reforming the FDA-The site doesnt say it but lets be honest they want to end most of the regulations
Reducing Costs through Tort Reform-Nothing new here they have been trying to do this for 30 years- they have tried to end most malpractice suits....
Addressing Rising College Costs- So ending Pell grants and cutting the Dept of Education is the answer?
The GOP has tried and failed on many of these fronts. there ideas are not, in my opinion, the best way to go
