I would say stick with singles, because people will just throw a bunch of crap together in a lot most of the time. Sometimes you can get good deals on lots, but I say sticking with singles is your best bet.

golfermatt - i think a lot of it has to do with the other people and not yourself. Like others have said, there are many people who are on this board for different reasons. One of the big reasons is to make money for themselves any way necessary. So, for today, if you dont have a Ryan Zimmerman auto, or a Jeter or pujols auto or rookie cards of the hot guy at this second whoever that may be(just using baseball as an example) a lot of people will not get back to you. Others, like myself, have very specific needs (In my case, 2005 Bowman Heritage, Michael Young, Paul Konerko & Todd Helton) outside of that, there may be the odd thing here or there I may want for myself or a few friends, but thats it. So I am very limited in what I will trade for.

The moral of the story - dont take it personal, its not a knock against you.

    Hi,

Another good way to pick up good trade bait is going to card shows. Go early (pref. before opening) and try to locate the $0,10, $0.25, $0.50 or $1.00 boxes.
Especially when you're early you can find good deals (dealers will fill up boxes at night for the next day). Only thing: you have to learn who's hot! Normally, stick with the hot RC's, the ser. numbered Superstars and HOF'ers. Even if you don't collect them or already have them, pick em up for a quarter (or 2).
I went last Saturday and picked up some cards I already had but knew people wanted. It doesn't happen at every show but you have to be patient! You will find that "cherry" after a while! And you will find out that it will always be the same dealer that has the good ones cheap! They don't take the time to price everything out and dump all the remains from their box breaks in the $0.10 / $0.25 boxes.
Also, ask for rebates etc if you buy more and dare to counter offer! Most sellers will not like it but need the funds to pay for the show!
    Good luck!

    Henri
