Aren't Printing Plates #1/1?!? Here's 2 sets of the same card!

EDITED! No trick photography or special effects. I bought the top set in 1999 and the second set was bought online over the last 2 months which was completed last week! What gives?!? Are more than one set used? Or can printing plates be copied (by Pacific or aftermarket seller)?! Thoughts anyone?

All brands insert these as #1/1s so are they or aren't they....hmmmm!

The most complete/comprehensive single player collection in the world with 95% of his Known cards & 400+ #1/1s.

I think Pacific got into trouble for doing things like this with their serial #ed cards IIRC.

Yah, most companies will only release one set of printing dies... To release 2 is downright frivolous, especially if they are marked 1/1....

As I mentioned in another thread, I work for a newspaper and am in the printing facility once a week... Depending on the guage of the plate, the maximum amount of prints can be between 1000-+50,000.... With the size of cards, I'd say that they would be a lesser amount and they would just discard any extras....

I have never owned a printing plate, so I haven't had the chance to experiment, but all the plates, on the back side should have an id number... Basically, it will have the page number (card number), volume, color, and a # signifying how many of the same plates exist...

For instance, the newspaper I work for has the following codes for this past weeks newspaper: 0108012---This means: 01=Page 1, 08=Week 8 of this year, 01=Black & White, 2= 2 of this plate exist.

I'm sure with Topps, you'd destroy the card/value by removing their sticker, but there should be a number, but IDK...

I would think it would take 4-5 dies to complete a print run, so in essence, you could possibly pull the 1st black plate, the 3rd cyan, 4th yellow, and 5th magenta...

They would all be 1/1's IF the other dies were destroyed.

Do you own all 8 plates?

    If so, Wow!

BTW: Your Brunell collection is the most impressive collection I've ever seen.

That's a Collector's Edge card. They liquidated everything they had. If they had come from packs that would be wrong but in the liquidation everything went so there's nothing wrong with it.

I also think you have the best Brunell collection Ever IDK the fact that you have 8 of the same card that was #d 1/1 is a little weird

They're not fake. It's just now all the cards CE wasn't supposed to release are on the market. They're still made legit by CE but all the tests/promos/duplicates/replacements are now out.
