Trading stars for your Topps commons
Im still looking to pick up topps commons from the 80s and 90s- but everyone who has offered these wants my 50 dollar autos, and that isnt going to happen. What I will offer is star players for the commons you have. Let me know who you want, and what you have from the 80s and 90s topps sets, and I will see if I can get a bunch of stars for you. That way, you get some guys you need, and I get some stuff I can use for my set building. Thanks

Did we talk last week about a couple sets?
If memory serves me right, you were interested but never made an offer.
I collect base also, so your $50 GU are not required.
The only thing I need is to make it worth while to ship 5 pound worth of cards.
LMK,
Joe

I'm noticing the same thing you are. Even when I see a card on someone's list that's in the $15-$20 range or other, they will undoubtedly ask for my high-end stuff, saying they can add more cards to even it out. I mean, come on...if I wanted more of your crap, I would have asked for it. I'm beginning to think that the only part of my page that shows up is my high-end stuff...it's like the mid- and lower-end stuff below it doesn't exsist. It gets pretty frustrating when I ask about a $25 Packers game used or rookie, and I get back something like "I like your Caddy auto." Grrr...I hate bandwagon collectors.
Sorry for the rant. I have quite a bit of base topps stuff around, but digging it out would prove to be a very difficult challenge.
edit: jirvin...bravo buddy, you're my kind of collector. There's much much more to this hobby than just going after the high end autographs and jerseys of "who's hot."

as you know, i have a bunch more. i'm looking for rc's of the guys in my sig and would definitely trade for others. i think part of the problem is people don't have scans of their rc's, so people don't see them.
but i'm happy to send commons you need for rc's.

yeah Dave, I know it- its just that pretty much every time I post this, I get replies like "I have 100 1989 topps commons, i like your joe namath auto" so I figured I would just make it very clear this time what I was willing to do
Im sure Ill get the rest of that stuff from you in time, gotta see what you sent me this time and get it sorted first- the biggest problem with collecting over 60 sets is organizing them...LOL
thanks man, Ill let you know when Im ready for the next batch

ok, cool. i sent mostly older stuff this time (70's), but the 82-87 are in better condition (ex at least).
if you have a list of what you need, i can try to sort a bit for you. that way you'll know you are getting ones you need.
