Photobucket Milestone, LOL
Added a few more scans to my MMA Card PC on Photobucket today and it finally took my pics over 500. I collect hard to find mma cards, japanese mma cards, promo cards, oddball cards, pretty much any mma card made before Topps started making UFC Rd. 1 cards. As you will see out of 500+ scans probably only a dozen or so are Topps cards. Im not a fan of what the big card companies have done to card collecting. Some i couldnt pass up on like a Jon Jones rc auto or Ronda Rousey and i have a Weidman rc auto incoming. If anyone has any of the kinds of cards i collect that i dont have i will pay way more than they are worth for them. My top wants are a Jason Mayhem Miller Punishment card, a Pride FC promo # 6, and a Rampage Jackson promotional card that i have a pic of but dont know the manufacturer or anything like that. I know i also need a Tito Ortiz rookie review gold /99 and a few more of his Punishment promos. I also collect Eddie Alvarez. I need a few more of his Leaf MMA printing plates. If anyone can tell me who has one of those please let me know. I have bought everyone that i've seen so far and i havent seen one in a while. Anyway here are my scans........ http://s176.photobucket.com/albums/w...MMA/?start=all

wow congrats James!
Where the heck did the Gina and Randy like what card set?
It's cool to see Dan and Ken in a Wrestling product! I don't think Ken has signed for Topps.Last edited by frizzzlecake; 11-17-2012 at 02:11 PM.

The Gina and Randy were promos from a Comic Convention. I dont think a set was ever made. I just got those. You never see them for sale.

Awesome awesome awesome! Love it.
It's not what the "companies" have done, it's just Topps.
And honestly, although I have major issues with a few things (condition of some hits out of the packs, poor redemption programs, strange fighter selection, etc) I think they are doing incredibly well considering we are witnessing a major hobby revolution in a sense. When was the last time a "new" sport so successfully entered the market? I mean, it's only a matter of time before we see a Beckett MMA. It's a new frontier and of course there will be glitches along the way for Topps. I hope to see Panini jump into the fray ASAP as I think they are way more creative. It's also time to start a better internal consistency with regards to "1st autos" and "rookie cards".

Panini and other companies cannot enter the market Topps has a UFC exclusive contract until 2014 I think. Hopefully after that the UFC allows other companies so we can have some competition and variety.

Im 34. When i was a kid and started collecting in 1986 for baseball cards you had Topps, Fleer, and Donruss. You could get every card made for an entire year for 100 bucks. Now baseball cards have 30-40 sets released a year with all the different autos and variations. Its crazy. Its too much. Thats why i dont collect the mainstream MMA cards. Topps has been making UFC cards for 3 years. How many GSP autos are out already? 50 different kinds. Whats it gonna be in another 5 years? 400 different GSP autos. It makes the cards not special anymore in my opinion. Your $50 GSP auto will be worth $20 when they make another 50 versions in the next two years.
