Ultimate Collection or Limited?
Hey,
I'm just starting to get back into the hobby and was looking at breaking a box of either 2011-12 Ultimate or 2011-12 Limited and was looking for some feedback from other users who have broken some boxes of either of these. I like the chances of hitting something big in Ultimate but I like the card design of Limited better and you still have a pretty good chance at something big. Any suggestions is much appreciated! Thanks!

Ultimate is way better in my humble opinion. Limited looks kind of cheap to me. Either way it's a risk, but a better product in Ultimate.

In my opinion it's Limited, not close. Better design and hard-signed autos.
Bottom line if you're trying to decide: watch a bunch of breaks, see which sees better to you, and roll the dice.

What do you value more: the thrill of opening a box (chance) or the cards in the box (design)?
I've opened a box of Limited and have been a part of an Ultimate-Groupbreak. I've always had a soft spot for Ultimate, it has that classical and special design, it's colorful but still exotic and I love hard-signed cards. I feel that Limited has potential, it has some really cool-looking and rare sets (Back to the Future, Captains Courageous, Private Signings, Stanley Cup Signatures), but it also has so many unnecessary elements like the cheap rookie-cards, stickers, a lots of parallels and bad design ( I know design is a matter of taste but quality is not (unless you prefer thinner cards) and in that area Ultimate is far superior).

I'd go with Ultimate over Limited.

I'd buy Contenders and get 2 boxes for the same price. Then again, I would rather spend the $100 at the srtippers or a casino then on Limited or Ultimate

Ultimate > Limited.
Especially if you prefer rookies. The phenoms "rookie auto patch" are cheap looking, and It's not even an authentic patch.
Limited is also considerably weaker than ultimate on the secondary market; there are way too many redundant parallels and nothing really holds its' value.
Overall, the two boxes are ~ the same price, ultimate has the $350 RNH RC (/99), whereas Limited has the <$100 RNH RC (phenoms).
