Blue Jackets prospect Ryan Murray faces shoulder surgery
November 27. 2012 - Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Ryan Murray, the No. 2 pick in last June's NHL draft, will be sidelined six months because he needs surgery to repair an injured shoulder.
Murray is considered a smooth, two-way defenseman similar in playing style to the recently retired Nicklas Lidstrom. Had there not been a lockout, he might have had a chance to play with the Blue Jackets. He is plus-51 during his Western Hockey League career.
