these athletes are grown men...if they cant take responsibility for their finances whose fault is that..i was always taught growing up if you wont look out for your own money why would anyone else..its not up to the owners to babysit their players finances..if anything they should deposit their checks directly into a trust fund and from there x amount of dollars could be distributed..but 98% of the people on this forum are in the "broke" catagory..how would you feel if some said i know you worked your schedule and all but im only giving you half your check and then the rest will be distributed through out your life..i understand you have babies and they need diapers and food but we cant help you on that..its silly..the athletes get their checks and if they choose to blow through 160 million dollars in a 16 year span (iverson had to of made way more then that because he had the shoe line and all those other lines and income providers) then thats their decision...but i dont feel sorry for him one bit..

Iverson sold one of his houses to a teammate when he was leaving Philly. There was over $12,000.00 in change laying on the floors all over the house, and another $21K in bills. There was a $95K Mercedes in the garage.

When the teammate told him what he's left, he just said, I forgot about the car, it's too big of a hassle, just keep the money and the wheels.

He blew every cent he had and then some.
