    buying packs off ebay?

is this ever smart to buy brand new packs off ebay? I was wondering if I could buy a couple of them for cheap, but then I would have to worry bout the packs already being searched.

Check the sellers feedback. Ive bought 2 lots of loose packs. I did good in both of em. So I guess it just depends on the seller.

if you buy packs off ebay dont buy something that says cadillac rc? or anything of that nature. If it has a ? in it most likely it wont have anything because it is a dead pack. Most of the people on there buy SP authentic or finest for example and go through the box till the hit the auto's/refractors that are gaurenteed to be in there and any left over pack is sold on ebay.

When i buy packs I check the sellers ebay feedback and then I look at the entire description and the head line. The last one I bought was titled "05 Finest Gaurenteed Auto hobby pack." Sure enough if did have an auto in it.

Best advice is dont assume you'll get something really good unless you are buying the whole hobby box atleast not off ebay. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you are roped into buying a dead pack.

    hope that helps

It is probably hit or miss when it comes to packs unless it happens to mention otherwise. I bought a bunch of packs from a seller on ebay not even thinking they would be searched and they probably were but I got a good deal on them though.

I make an effort to atleast veiw the condition of the pack on the auction picture. My first time, the bottom of the pack was rippled, and subsequently resealed (in my opinion) and it could have been avoided if i looked at the picture... THis doesn't always work as people use the same picture for like 100 different packs, but sometimes i does...

I wouldn't chance it personally . I get nervous buying boxes off of ebay because some cards are one per case and they check boxes til they get the card and sell the rest , just like opening packs til they get the auto or gu . I know for a fact that some reseal packs because there is a local store here that does it . My buddy's wife used to work at the store and she used the machine herself . I don't buy from card stores anymore that sell single cards or sell on ebay either . My wife's uncle had a store and he would open packs to quote show people what the cards look like , but I would look on ebay a couple of days later and there would be a good card from the same box on ebay . Now you know the rest of the box is dead . I told him that I thought that practice was killing the hobby and that he was stealing money from kids who thought they had a chance of getting something good and he told me not to buy from him if I didn't want to . So I didn't .He no longer is in business( hmmm I wonder why people stopped buying from him ) .
