*SIGH*.....here we go AGAIN!

Torres is of Spanish descent and still speaks the language of his Cajun ancestors: French. He makes a decent living giving tours of the bayou and asks for nothing from the powers that be.

Well DUH!

If he's making a "decent living" why the hell would he ask for more?

What he has, he earns. He does not understand why some Americans accept government assistance.

Then he's an idiot that doesn't understand how a society works.

And how helping the less fortunate through a hard time in their life isn't a terrible thing.

If he's this stupid and/or heartless then I sincerely hope he never leaves the bayou.

In this very poor part of America, someone who works hard can still earn a decent living.

LOL, but he supposedly doesn't understand why some of the poor people around him need a little bit of help?

And they came in handy immediately after Hurricane Katrina, when a horde of folks fled New Orleans about 70 miles away. Torres tells me how "the good, the bad and the ugly" flooded his zone, looking for safety from the storm that just glanced his bayou. When some city thugs began to show menace, Torres calmly produced his arsenal. The danger quickly passed.

Hmm....I wonder how exactly they began to show menace?

Also, why the hell would they show "menace" in a place that had NOT been abandon by officials like New Orleans?

Everyone knows that a big reason why there was so much chaos in New Orleans was because of the TERRIBLE down right EMBARRASSING job by the Bush administration and his incompetency.

Torres watches some of the news programs on cable TV.

He likes the conservative shows. He doesn't quite understand the big social changes taking place.

He protects his family with guns. Why should that bother anyone, he asks. I have no answer.

To Torres, President Obama is an enigma. He doesn't understand "income redistribution." Torres charges a fair price to show you his world, and you can take it or leave it. If you leave it, he'll find other work. There's always something a man can do to feed his family.

Bill, you're such a.....I can't type what I'm thinking about you on here....but if Torres who by your claim has NEVER left Louisiana and loves to watch shows like yours....then it's not really a mystery why he thinks Obama is an "enigma".

Millions of Americans believe exactly what Roland Torres believes. But they are seldom heard.

Cajun ancestors come from Acadia in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. There is as much or more Canadian Acadian influence in Louisiana than there probably is of any other kind.

Cajun Means:

Acacadian or Acadie - turns from this to Cadian, to Cajun.

Also, before slavery was abolished in the USA, many Lousiana Blacks came to Acadia in Canada via the "Underground Railroad". They were allowed to live and worship somewhat more freely in Acadia than they ever were in the South.

When slavery was abolished in the USA and it was safe to go back home to the South, most took the opportunity because Acadia can be a very cold place to live in the Winter months.
