Worht Grading
Hello all, i have a question for you, i pulled a Joe Montana Auto out of topps fan favorites, the crazy thing is that it was out of retail never got a pull that good out of retail before. Would you get it graded. Also in beckett it has a 90 next to the card, my friend said that means there were only 90 made, but the cards not #'d.

first off your friend is right about the 90 being the print run.... im not a fan of grading new cards unless you plan on keeping is and just wanting it to look nice... if you are looking to sell i would sell it raw

If you get it graded make sure it wont get less than a 9. To me a new card graded less than a 9 is a turn off

If youre going to get a card graded you need to purchase a line gauge and a lupe. A line gauge is a mini ruler that is handy for measuring borders. A lupe (pronounced loop) is a printer's magnifying glass. This will help you inspect the card as a grading company would. You would be suprised how a supposedly MINT card (to the eye) looks under a lupe. You will then see if its REALLY worth grading.
Good LUCK!

I was wondering, is it possible to send the card in to beckett, and ask them to only slab it if it grades at least a 9?

If you plan on selling the card then I would NOT get it graded. To grade an auto insert to most seems a little over the top, it just secures condition. If you are willing to take a chance of it getting graded a 9 or better to have the condition secured then grade it. If your keeping it for a long time and you don't care about the grade. Yeah get it graded. You know it will never get anyworse for the condition.
