Or how about men who like the Dallas Cowboys are more likely to be overweight than guys who like the Atlanta Falcons. Or better yet women who wear make up are more like to have have an ATT cell phone than those who dont.

You can ask me 100 times. I am not the one DISPUTING the studies or even making them an ISSUE, you are. Regardless of how the researchers came about deciding to check for a link in this area, the fact remains it is an under-researched area that the group sponsoring the research feels warrants a look.
I am willing to bet that the people handing out the money heard the case for funding brought forth by the researchers and deemed it a worthy pursuit. You still haven't offered anything to suggest that they are wasting time and money.

Yes. Money has also been given to study the social effects of lawn ornaments on South American culture. Not everything deemed worthwhile is.

I'll just ask this, Habs. What, besides the fact these guys made the claim, leads you to believe obesity is a problem among lesbians but not gay males?
Just a question.

The fact that I would expect an organization handing out money for research would vett the claims of their potential researchers. If they gave them the money, they obviously have faith in the stats they are being provided. That's good enough for me.
Your turn, why do you believe they are wrong? Why do you believe the organization handling the purse strings fell for their bogus claims?

Because it's based on a stereotype. Show me anything that agrees with "Them that lezzies is fat"
And I can't find anything to support the claims anywhere, except for more claims with no numbers or data of any kind to back it up.Last edited by Wickabee; 03-15-2013 at 10:10 PM.

So let's get this straight. Their claims can't be true because YOU feel it is based on a stereotype and YOU can't find anything to back it up. What is your explanation for why this organization granted them the money? (asked for the second time)

Well, if I'm not mistaken, the US government is spending over $175,000 to find out if cocaine makes Japanese quail engage in risky sexual behaviour...
I suppose that's going to give us some really useful data?
