Are legal issues not created by society? Are they not an extension of or derived from social issues? Did society not pressure Congress to enact laws giving women the right to vote or end segregation? Everything that is a larger social issue becomes a legal issue, no? Yes? No??

Yes.
Some legal issues are created by society.
And this one is definitely one of them.
As such, the federal government needs to step in and do the right thing.
We are a nation of freedom, EQUALITY, and Justice.

Yes, but IF they rule against DOMA and Prop 8....they will most likely still leave it up to the states.
It should be a federal issue.
