This is my favourite thread from the past little while. Some great stories in here, and high on the sentimentality, the way it should be.

I just wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to share their story with us thus far. I've enjoyed them all, and the warm fuzzy feelings they have left me with. Christmas morning excitement, reconnecting with fond childhood memories, spending time with our siblings, overcoming life's hardships... did I mention that I love this thread? :)

Well, my favourite card has to be from my Malhotra PC, my 98-99 SPX Top Prospects Spectrum 1/1. It's not even my first Malhotra 1/1, my first was the 98-99 Topps Gold Label Class 2 Black 1/1. However, in the Topps Gold Label set, Malhotra has 9 different 1/1's. So really, this was the first 1/1 that I acquired in which I could say there was no other card that even comes close to it. As a big Malhotra collector, I know there aren't many flashy Manny cards out there, so to be the proud owner of at least one of them is a fabulous feeling. I pride myself on this collection, and to say I own something this rare (along with a few others of his big cards) is just the best feeling. The rarer pieces always seem to shine as a demonstration of patience and perseverance in collecting Malhotra, as with many other players, as finding so many of his numbered cards can be a long wait.

My favourite is the 2010 Dominion set (and also the 11 one to a lesser extent). I love thost thicker cards...they have a nic classy feel to them and the 2010 set just did a great job with colours. It looks nice with a patch as well. I don't own many of them but happy with the ones I have, sleek card.

My favorite card is not one that comes from a company but rather one i designed and got assembled for myself, it's definitely a one of a kind and the only booklet i own.

I do a ton of graphic work so and GUCD231 is amazing at assembling cards so we got together and made this! Of course the patches are just maufactured but i didn't much care as i didnt want to spend a lot $$$ on a GU jersey just to cut up haha.

Tres cool! beside are not all patches mfc in china or where ever anyway, maybe yours doesn't have his Game Used sweat on it, but i never got the appeal of that anyway!

When I was a young kid in the mid 90's, there was an amazing sports card shop, BJ's Sports Cards & More, in the center of my town. Whenever my mom had to run errands in the center, I would always tag along in hopes of stopping by BJ's.

I never opened boxes, just a few packs and $5 to spend in the dollar bin. I could look through the dollar bin for ten or fifteen minutes before my mom helped me decide which ones to buy and I made my purchase.

Well in 1997 there was an awesome product known as Playoff Absolute. I loved those cards. I had bought a few packs in previous trips, but we were in a hurry this particular time so I picked up 1 pack and the newest issue of Beckett Football and we were on our way. On the ride home I couldn't wait to open the pack so I quickly busted it open.

I took my time looking through each card because I always looked at the stats (I loved stats as a kid and it's something that carried over through today). Then I got to the last card in the pack and I noticed it looked really thick. I thought it was just a cool insert, but it was still weird how thick the card was (haha by today's standards, it's not even remotely thick. Funny how things change).

So I opened my fresh Beckett and flipped the pages and scanned and scanned until I found my new card. And I couldn't believe my eyes, it has a BV of $150! I used to get excited about having a $5 or $10 card but I never had anything like this. I was ecstatic. And it was all my favorite running backs! My mom thought I was seeing things so she pulled the card over and looked for herself and was amazed that indeed I was right. I had pulled a $150 BV card that had an pull ratio of 1:144 packs! And it was the second best card in the insert set.

We drove back to the store and the owner was so happy and excited for me and even gave me a screwdown to keep the card safe. I kept the card in there for over 12 years. Now it resides in my PC in a penny sleeve, toploader, and team bag and it's probably the card I take out and look at the most. It will always be my favorite card.
