habs, sex is even effected by religion.
The academic study of religion is perhaps one of the farthest reaching and multi disciplinary subjects to study.
There is little to nothing that has not been affected by religion.

Then what is your argument in regards to just the ten commandments and whether or not they should be placed in public schools?
Do you even have one?
Or are you arguing with me for the sake of it, and you actually don't care about this issue.....because at this point I think it's the latter.Last edited by JustAlex; 04-15-2013 at 10:16 AM.

I was debunking one post of yours. You claimed the Satanic has the same value as the Ten. I said you were wrong because one has historic value as well, while the other only holds religious. You then made post after post saying I was claiming something else.
It seems you finally clued in. How many pages/days did it take you? How many times did I have to explain it? If you won't read our posts why the hell should we pay attention to you?

OK....but I think your INITIAL argument was dealing with history....and here is the proof.
Before I even mentioned Satanists, you said the following:
^Post #3 in response to my question: "Wait, what exactly is the reason for these statues at schools?"
So why did you say "History"?
I didn't mention the satanic commandments until post #6.
Your initial argument WAS dealing with history.

Then you said this: Post #14
^What is this non-religious meaning?
Is it history again?
Tell me.

Then you said this: Post #30
Actually the satanic commandments hold no laws dealing with any deity, the only "weird" commandment deals with magic, and I guess you can say that's religious in nature.
So out of the 11 Satanic commandments only ONE is religious.
Of the 10 Jewish commandments FOUR are religious.
So, how is it that the satanic commandments hold more religious value than the jewish commandments?
Tell me.

I was speculating as to a reason for them being there. I didn't put them there, so my reason really doesn't matter, does it?
Also, I fail to see how that one word, "history" hits your mind and turns into "has more historical than religious value"? Can you explain how you got that whole sentence from one word?
Then you went on to say the Ten commandments has the exact same value as the Satanic (wrong), that I was claiming the Ten only have historic value (wrong) and that the Ten has more historic than religious value (wrong)
I never said any of these things. Apparently all I had to do to send you on a weeklong tangent was say "history". Calm down, you're gonna have a stroke before you hit 30.
Basically, you're telling me this entire argument, complete with all your rants, lies and tantrums, is entirely because you made all these assumptions based on one word. Is that what you're saying? All of this is because when I said "history" you immediately thought you had my entire world view figured out based on that word.
Pretty juvenile.

Answer Post #66 and 67 then!
Why did you say "Why is it only atheists who can't discern there's a non religious meaning to those commandments?"
C'mon, TELL ME, what is this non-religious meaning that I (as an atheist) can't discern?
Why did you say the satanic commandments are more religious when only ONE commandment deals with religion and the Jewish commandments have FOUR dealing with religion?
C'mon, explain these statements.

I did, but I'll repeat (not that you'll read it).
The Ten Commandments hold historic value beyond religious because it's one of the oldest sets of organized law in history. The Satanic Commandments are nothing more than commandments for that religion.
If the Ten Commandments hold no historical value, then no piece of art depicting any sort of religious imagery holds any historical value. Da Vinci's Last Supper? Just propaganda right?
Forget the part where you finally admitted the Ten has historic value. What historic value does the Satanic have? What societal reach has it had that brings it up to the level of the Ten?
