I honestly don't see who could disagree with this. The left gets more legalized drugs, the right gets states rights. The marijuana users get cheaper and safer weed, the non-users pay less to keep people in jail who didn't harm them. But I'm sure someone will come along and ruin it because they think it will get their party more votes

1: The libertarians are actually more for drug legalization than liberals. They (correctly) see it as a waste of time and money and an infringement of personal freedom. Being that the use of the drug only hurts the user, and we have laws against the other problems surrounding drugs, it is a waste (especially marijuana).
2: Weed won't be cheaper. Most pot users say they want it legal, but they really don't. I've never known a situation where adding tax to something brings down the price.

Adding the tax won't make it cheaper but you will see more marijuana production...

And gangs will undercut. They will leave eventually, but not without a fight.
Thing is, with legal marijuana, it's easier to go after illegal grows and sales because you aren't going after the college students looking to have a good weekend.
