Dominion cards to be placed in Panini Prime hockey this season

Hockey collectors may have wondered what was going to happen to Dominion this year after the release was canceled.

Panini America is adding it to 2012-13 Prime Hockey, due out in August.

With the addition of Dominion, Prime will get more content, but that also means the price will likely jump. Collectors can expect to pay around $250 or more for Prime this year.

Each box will come with five Prime cards and a two-card Dominion pack. The Prime cards include a Rookie autographed Quad Jersey, limited memorabilia card, autograph card and an extra card.

well i didnt really like last years prime, i just picked what cards i needed. hopefully this years is a bit better. should be with the addition of dominion and the increase in price.

I think that's a great idea, this will saving us a lot in stead of to buying both Prime and Domninion respectively which are very expensive then.

But just hope that I get some card to hunt this year....

I think thats pretty lame They add two cards to bump up the price instead of just doing the Dominion product alone. also that means a ton of redemption's. what the heck / I have only gotten one from the prime back so far and burns me is every auto redemption I have the players have signed in Limited as well as the Fleer Retro and everything else that has came out and now they dont answer the phone like Topps you leave a message then they reply via a quick note in you redemption profile page sorry to hijack your thread Bro !!! just irritates me

The price is a little high, but if this is anything like last year's Prime, I don't mind paying it. Finally something that's gonna be worth breaking!!

No doubt the cards from both sets look fantastic. However, this is a shady excuse for Panini to bump up the price of Prime. like this is why I will never purchase a Panini product unless I can get it at a disgustingly discounted price.

And Frendo, I hope to have some cards to chase too .

My LCS guys told me about this after they got back from the Vegas Summit. It's a pretty cool inclusion and will no doubt bring further value to the current edition of what was arguably Panini's best release last year. With the rules imposed by the PA for this year's releases I think that Panini did the wise thing by not releasing Dominion as a standalone - there's just not enough firepower out there to demand a high-end release that is rookie-driven.

Are they still making Dominion base cards? Because I enjoyed last year getting really cheap $1-2 base cards from a mix of Cup/Panini/Dominion for the best players from the season before. And Dominion from the past two seasons have had the best looking base cards imo
