I'm not afraid. I'm prepared. If something does happen I am ready to protect myself. I am 99.99 percent sure nothing will ever be needed and I can continue to enjoy life and shooting pop cans in the backyard. But if someone jacked up on meth decides to real into my house to steal my sudafed and attack my wife or son I know I am ready to deal with it.

I personally don't use the stuff but some dude coming off his high doesn't know that. Way to deflect the conversation though!

No meth head is making a home invasion for sudafed unless he knows it's there. As such, you're probably safe.
Now, I realize you're making an example, but the fact you came up with that particular example tells me you are scared. Scared and uninformed.
Not deflecting anything, just proving you're frightened. If you weren't, you'd have said something about a mugging or genuine home invasion (ie: not a tweaking methol head) or anything else that might actually happen.

You can think whatever you want to think. I live in probably the least worrisome place in America. On a quiet culdesac with 2 police officers as neighbors. I'm not afraid of anyone coming in my house because I know I am protected by myself. I don't carry because I am afraid. I carry because other people are idiots and I want to eliminate that tiny chance someone does want to harm myself or my family. I know the odds of me ever having to is minute but I know I am always prepared

Generally speaking they would be fine. In reality it creates red tape for us and does nothing about people that would chose not to follow the law and get a fire arm on the street corner. Further, if you would like to talk REALITY this "background check" combined with the United Nations gun treaty would most likely result in ALL law abiding citizens losing there guns..............................

"People do scary things, so I carry a gun because I'm not scared!"
That makes less than no sense.
"Some meth head could come into my house looking for sudafed I don't have, even though a meth head would never waste his time on a 'maybe' AND I live between two cops...not because I'm scared!"
Youre scared. Inaction out of fear leaves everything as is. Children are dying because of the fear of a nation.
That said, I don't want to take your guns. I just want you to realize, and think about why you really feel you need them. Not NRA parrotting, why YOU genuinely feel you NEED it.
If you do that, you'll realize you're scared. You describe the safest home in America, yet still need your guns. That's fear, plain and simple.Last edited by Wickabee; 04-22-2013 at 12:07 PM.
