Speaking of Don Ashby...what would a signed index card of his go for? Also, Bob Gassoff?
Thanks,
Bart

I don't know Bob Gassoff.... or what kind of market there would be.
Ashby, I think it's a pretty limited group of collectors that would want one - but there arn't a lot out there, so they get good money.
The last one I saw on eBay (it was a signed index card too) the seller was asking $85, but it didn't sell. I actually found it in completed listings, I had missed the auction.
That price is (IMO) fair for Ashby, but that particlar Index card looked very poor, IMO, and I don't think I would have placed a bid. Signature was on blue paper, which had been glued to a white card stock. The card itself looked in rough shape.
I did contact the seller about it though - and he had already sold it outside of eBay. I'm going to guess he got less than the $85 asking price for it, but who knows?
Depending on what you've got.... I would expect an eBay aution to fetch between $50 and $100. What the index is / how nice the signature is, could have a pretty big effect on the price. I said before "limited market" - a $50 list price, you'd get a few collectors that are Oilers / Leafs (maybe Rockies?) fans interested... and I'm sure you'd get a couple of bids.

Go on ebay and look at what base cards sell for against the same card with an IP auto. It does generally raise the price, but from $0.50 to $1.00, roughly.

The question is not 100% clear, though. Does in an IP auto increase the value of a base card? Depends on what the base card is, right? If it's 90-91 Pro Set, almost certainly. A Cup base card, maybe not. Now, if the question is are IP autos WORTH anything...sometimes. I have a Patrick Roy IP auto I picked up for $10, 20 years ago from a reputable source, so I'm confident in its authenticity. I've been thinking of sending it off to PSA, but cheapness and laziness keep getting in the way. I would argue with a PSA authentication it would some value as his auto from 20 years ago is much, much nicer than what you see today. Not that it really matters to me though, I'd be hanging on to it. But to answer the original question, I would feel this IP auto would increase the cost of this base card exponentially.

Sorry for the ridiculously small pic on my last post, The site won't let me insert an image more than a couple of KB, for some reason.

I don't mind giving like 5$ BV in trade value for IP Odjick autographs.
