I'm working through the last of Conn Iggulden's Emperor series, "The Gods of War", a highly-researched fictitious take on the life of Julius Caesar.

He's a shared Pulitzer Prize winner, and an interesting guy. I think he was on the John Stewart show recently, among others. I am only just into it, but it's captivating and he's a fine fisherman.

The Mob's most feared two assassins are both dead now: Harry "Pittsburgh Phil" Strauss, or Pep to his friends, and Roy DeMeo.
Pep, got the electric chair in 1941 and DeMeo got whacked in 1983.
Pittsburgh Phill had 75 hits that were known, and probably another 35-40, Roy DeMeo at least 100, and likely many more.. They are the only two in the Century Club to my recollection, and I have been studying Organized Crime in the USA for the past 35 years.
