I am saying that they have done this very thing:
They have taken a Gold Reserve Base Card, printed "Exclusives" on it and released it.
It's an obvious ERROR card.
I just should have explained it better. The Savard Card if from Gold Reserve Base Stock.Last edited by centrehice; 05-28-2013 at 11:28 AM.

You just contradicted yourself in your post before this. Again, photo does not have the gold foil finish (which all gold reserve BASE have) in the OP. It is an unnumbered gold exclusive from regular Upper Deck. 98-99 and 99-00 were notorious for having multiple copies of many of UD's 1/1 parallels both numbered and unnumbered. I've seen 3 identical Tony Amonte 1/1's in the possession of one owner.Last edited by dahabsfan; 05-28-2013 at 11:34 AM.

Thanks for your feedback. Your reply was exactly the information I was looking for. I suspect that my card is an unnumbered Exclusives 1/1, and your statement about multiple copies of 1/1 from 1998-99 and 1999-00 confirms that thought. My guess is that the card I have is replacement stock that somehow was released.

Here is what I have (from left to right)
Base Card - Silver foil
Exclusives - Copper foil #'d to 100
Exclusives 1/1? - Gold foil (says UD EXCLUSIVES on back, but no number - same as the one in OP)
Gold Reserve - Gold Foil with foil like background in photo.

Awesome rainbow. Thanks for posting the pics of your cards and for letting me know that there are other exclusives 1/1's with no numbering.

This could very well be what it is.
Card that was produced, but was never supposed to get out. Replacement stock, sample print, whatever.
I just can't see that UD wouldn't have stamped those 1/1. Sounds like you've got something pretty unique though.

There are many examples of the un-numbered UD replacement stock cards getting into circulation. I have 2 different ones myself. This was from back in the days where a numbered card sent in for replacement would be hand numbered and sent out as a replacement. An interesting piece for sure!

A different look at the base, gold reserve, exclusives (copper /100), exclusives 1/1 (gold, with back shown).

I`ve got one of those hand numbered replacements -- always wondered about it until now -- I`ve got like 3 of the exclusives of the same preds player but only one hand numbered -- and this is out of probably 30 total preds exclusives i built up -- are they actually that rare ?
