A former Vezina Trophy winner's self-imposed exile might soon be coming to to an end.
Former Boston Bruins netminder Tim Thomas could be considering a return to hockey next season, according to Hockey Night in Canada.
Although the 39-year-old's contract is set to expire at the end of this season, the New York Islanders, who traded for Thomas' rights before the 2012-13 season, can extend the four-time all-star for an additional year if they wish because he refused to report after the deal.
