    NHL 14 Cover Vote?

Does anyone know what EA is doing with this?

They told us when they started the 1st round that we would be told the winner during the finals. Well, the finals are over, and unless I missed something, no winner has been announced. What is up with this?

I understand that Bob could end up in the KHL and if he was on the cover and didn't play in the NHL it would not help sales, but if that is why, then why hasn't EA said a thing? Is a quick tweet telling us it has been delayed to a certain date too much to ask for?

Am I missing something big here or what? Everything I find on google is a month old. I know EA is far from the best company, but they clearly misinformed hockey fans and gamers and aren't doing anything about it.

Side note, if anyone has any links to anything about Bob, please tell me. I know he has been offered a 10M contract in the KHL and a starting spot in the olympics, the Jackets have offered him a contract, and that he is open to the idea of going to the KHL and wants to play in the olympics, is that as far as the story has gone so far?

Hasn't that cover been the kiss of death for some? I remember the last time Gretz was on there, Suter cross-checked him a couple of months later and basically ruined the rest of his career. Then it happened to others.

Not so much injury, but a bit failure.

I know for football it was bad for awhile, not sure if it still is. Hockey has been very good lately when you think about it, here's the last 5:

13 - Giroux - put up a PPG this season, 13 goals and 35 assists in 48, was down from his previous season however

12 - Stamkos - 60 goals, 97 points, his best season stat wise

11 - Toews - 32 goals, 76 points in 80 games, also his best season stat wise. injured the next season however

10 - Kane - 30 goals, 58 assists, 88 points in 82 games, another career best season. went on to have 28 points in 22 playoff games and obviously won the Cup that year

09 - Phaneuf - harder to judge but offensively, had 47 points in 80 games, so not too shabby

So none of those guys had bad seasons, and three of them had career seasons so far.....so I hope the backup for NJ or CBJ is in when they play the Rangers this year lol

As far as Bobrovsky going to the KHL, he really should stay as Columbus will be a threat next year, especially with him in net. Without him, they may be in trouble. But I can understand why EA would hold up, I remember when they had Heatley on 04 and changed to Sakic after the accident with Heatley and Snyder, but copies with Heatley were already released

Actually, I heard someone say that is is tonight at 6PM, they said it was somewhere on the EA site. I don't know about that but I hope so.

I hope that is how Bob thinks, but he really wants to play in the olympics and I am sure the $ helps.

I'm sure NY will not be a place where they rest Bob, the CBJ-NYR games will be very tense and fun to watch next year. I wouldn't be surprised to see multiple fights each and every game and the games to resemble playoff games.

This was prior to all of those. I remember reading the rampant comments in 99-00 until about 2005, about being on the cover of anything. It was tongue-in-cheek I'm sure, just like when winning the President's Trophy was called the Kiss of Death until the Red Wings changed all that, and now the Hawks continue to re-affirm it.
