Nothing new to me- a majority of Christian and Jewish holidays are "based" or put on Pagan Holidays. Look at Christmas, it has been proven that Jesus was born in the summer, not during the winter but it was put in December to be parallel with a pagan holiday. Easter is one too, with "Ishtur" being a pagan holiday and taking place the same Sunday as Easter every year...

It makes perfect sense. The idea was to combine to cultures/religions to expand an empire and create an atmosphere where people felt connected not separated by their varying beliefs.

What I find amusing is some people will try to use to this as a way to disprove Christianity, when it has little to do with it.

    So true

It does show Christianity doing what it wants, despite teachings against it.
