i've become so obsessed

Collecting started when I was a kid with my grandparents (right after the Pokemon stage haha). We always used to get a pack when we went to see them and it got me into it (I only bust boxes with my grandpa, hes 89 now in a nursing home but I wont open a box unless Im going to see him). I really started into it about a year or so back buying boxes and working on sets. This site is great though because most of my buddies arent into it (my brother occasionally) and Ive found although people like seeing the cards most have NO idea how much they really cost haha. Ive been hooked since I joined on here (just gotta keep it in check with everything else I enjoy doing)

I have gone 9+ months ( Fall Expo ) without buying any boxes.... saving up for the 13-14 season so I know what you mean.

Truly has been a very hard thing but with a case of Team Canada to be followed by UD series one I will be back because I miss the fun of ripping wax.

That's what I love the most. I can pick and choose what cards I want on eBay or this site, but the thrill of opening packs is unlike anything else! I go to my LCS nowadays (just got back from there actually), and do nothing but chat and look around.. it feels so good to be back! and really, finding this site has been a little treasure in and of itself!

Started way back in the 90's when my dad and I would go to the LCS in the mall by my house. It was right when the first year of Be A Player came out and there was an Auto in each pack. My Dad and I must have spent over $1,000 bucks just buying loose packs (the store owner loved us and we pretty much were the only people who bought hockey cards cause I live in Kansas)....and it was a BLAST. Stopped collecting for about 15 years....until someone had directed me to this site, which was back in 2010.

At first I mainly bought boxes from online stores like D&A and Blowout cards but then the eBay addiction got a hold of me. That is when my PC started to expand and explode at a rapid pace. Now I am mainly selling and using that money for group box/case breaks which has surprisingly gone well, getting a hit in well over half of the breaks.

I will say that it is hard to kick the addiction because being apart of something that when you don't know the outcome is pretty exciting and exhilarating. Don't think that I will ever stop but that is just because I have had the fortunate opportunity to have extra funds to play around with after living expenses.

Thanks to everyone on this site that works so hard to make it possible for us collectors to meet and connect with other great people from around the world!!! Keep up the good work SCF members and staff, it has been GREAT.

What do you mean 'this weird version we play in Canada'? Not a die-hard football fan, but the CFL is REAL football, and here's why:

1. NFL uses four downs, the CFL uses three. I call NFL lazy or cheating. Four downs?? Boring!

2. The dimensions of the fields vary between the two leagues. The field size in the NFL from the goal line to goal line is 100 yards. On the other hand, in the CFL, the 55 yard line is midfield. CFLers have to go further and have to be more athletic.

3. The running game. I've watched hundreds of NFL games and it completely dumbfounds me why an NFL running back runs directly into the wall of players. They try to create an opening and rarely succeed. It's completely idiotic. CFL running backs FIND an opening.

As to your question about this hobby, it depends on why a collector leaves in the first place. If the collector gets into a pattern of leaving and returning, leaving and returning, leaving and returning, then it isn't a hobby; it is an addiction. Get help.

CFL is a much more passing league can attribute for #1 and 2. 3 is much simpler, the O-Line in the CFL is filled with weaker players. The best players go to the NFL because they can get more $ there. They can get more $ in the NFL cause it has a reputation for having the best players. See how the cycle works?

Back on topic, left cause I become a uni student and real life took over, came back cause I can now afford it and realized how much I missed it.
