    2013-14 Score Alternate Back

I just bought a Score box and imported the set in the SCF Inventory and realize there is a different variation:
    2013-14 Score Alternate Back
Now the only difference I realize and seem to be the variation is that the black band on top under the name is 2/3 of the height of the other back and in no case do they have a paragraph of text, only stats. seem to come as 2 per pack on average so around 8 regular back, 2 alternate back and 2 insert or RC for 12 cards per pack. Now there is also a hot rookie alternate according to the check list but I was not able to figure it out.

Now if this is the variation this is also found in the gold color variation too??? Is it the case with Red Or Black???

Again not sure this is the alternate variation and would like to know so I can add the gold variation as well. Also are there alternate rookie back variation as the back all seem to be the same on my rookies.

Never too clear when we import the sets...

The one on the right would be the alternate back one.

Do you have any other examples? I havent bought any Score, but could it be they were trying to fit in the career stats for each player on the card, thus why Salo's has no writing and they had to scrunch the top graphic?

No, that's not the alternate back version.

Players who have 5 years or less NHL experience have their stat line posted along with a blurb. Long-time veterans just have the stats. As such, there's differing layouts for the back.

I *think* that the Alternate Backs are a hobby-only parallel.

It would be FANTASTIC if someone from Panini would post an example of this parallel.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

The alternate back is in red ink. No idea if it's hobby only or not though.

Did a little digging - the Red Backs are Rack Pack Exclusives ... Rack Pack: $4.99/pack – 52 cards per pack, 12 packs per box (two Golds, two rack-pack-exclusive Red parallels)

For some reason I had it in my mind that there's the Red Back *AND* an Alternate Back. But I'm a weirdo.

On the back of my hobby pack, no mention of alternate back nor red variation. But the Panini checklist does list them both
    2013-14 Score Alternate Back
    2013-14 Score red

Now about the back you are probably right as the stats start from 2002 or older, nothing newer. So then Why not make all the black stripe the same height. That the one think I hate, is have to figure out the cards. Like the first year they got glossy out, the card # was the same and then the year after they added glossy under them. Now same thing, we need to figure out what are those back. Just a pain to not be able to know what card you have. Seem like Manufacturer are getting worse and worse with time and just make it harder for us to figure out what card we have.

Maybe Alternate back is for retail only, go figure since Score is meant as a retail product first and foremost.

ALTERNATE BACK (RED BACK) are in SCORE JUMBO ONLY. Jumbo drops tomorrow.
RED PARALLELS are found in retail RACK/FAT PACKS only. I hope this clears everything up.

Parallels for the sake of parallels gives you this type of thing.
