I just put a ROMLB in the mail to Ryno today. I already got a ROMLB signed by him once IP, in 2005 after his HOF induction, but unfortunately did not get the HOF inscription.

Sandberg was also at the annual Chicago Sun-Times show last weekend, but it seems cheaper to use the TTM Manager here to mail to his house. At the Sun-Times show, he was $100 plus $30 for an inscription.

My Sandberg ball arrived today. Like dsolzman, I did not get the HOF inscription. Technically it's a success, but it I'm not totally happy about it. I included $25 cash. Since Sandberg will sign for less, I thought he might do the inscription if I threw in a little extra money. Nope. Aside from Tommy Lasorda, who is known as a manager, it's the first time a player has not done the inscription for me.

Sandberg, although he signs as well as any other HOF I've ever seen, is a moody jerk sometimes even when he signs. I've gotten him in person about half a dozen times and gotten the inscription only about 50% of the time. It just depends on his mood.

Not happy? You got Ryne Sandberg for $25. Some people have sent donations and haven't even gotten a return.

I sent a Donation, Ball & Pen last year, Asked for the HOF inscription also & didnt get it as well. In fact if he signed your ball with a pen you should be thrilled about that. He signed mine with a sharpie.

First, there are 4 pictures of signed baseballs under Ryne Sandberg in the TTM Manager. Of those 4, Ryno did a HOF inscription on all 4 baseballs! Thus, it's reasonable to hope I could get one too.

Second, Sandberg has a high -- not a low -- success rate TTM. Especially during the off season.

Third, I paid Sandberg above -- not below -- his asking price.

Fourth, every other Hall of Fame player I've submitted to TTM has accommodated my full request (sweet spot signature + a HOF inscription) for $25 out the door (or less). Check out the link in my signature for details.

Five, the $80 remark you edited out has to be a joke. I wouldn't bother collecting TTM if it cost $80 for an inscription from Ryno.

    Booyah.

The problem is that Ryne doesn't have an exact asking price. He doesn't send you a price list like some players. His success rate on SCN of 38% isn't great either.

It may be a high success rate on the TTM manager but SCN shows 38% success rate. Many people sending to the Phillies didn't even get their items signed. Instead they got a signed team postcard. A few successes there show the HOF 05 inscription but many others...don't.

Molitor and Lasorda didn't inscribe their HOF years when I sent to them. Does it add more value to the items? You bet. I'll take what I can get.

Like I have four Wade Boggs autographs. A smudged card that I decided to pay more to ship UPS after USPS lost my first card in the mail. A signed photo with HOF 05. Another signed photo of the photo I had taken with him at the Ted Williams museum. It's one of very few Baseball HOF items in my possession that are PERSONALIZED to me with HOF year--the others being Tony La Russa and the writers or broadcasters. The other item? Facing Ted Williams, a book in which he wrote the forward.

    THIS!

Look at Dave Winfield...I have the last success on SCN and that was after I sent a 2nd photo and 2nd check since my request sent to the Padres two months prior was likely lost.

Lasorda signs most things via the Dodgers but not doesn't sign much via his home. I don't get that. He never returned my card but he returned my photo signed but not inscribed. Molitor's the same way. He's got a 60% rate on SCN and I got lucky I sent when I did. My card hasn't been sent back but my 8x10 is signed but not inscribed.
