Boxes To Buy

Hey Guys,

JUst did the same thing on the football part of the forum im looking to buy a box of football cards and basketball cards, would anybody be able to suggest 5 boxes of basketball cards to choose from factors are 1.Price and 2. Chances of Insert pulls. IM looking at spending around 90-120 US. Thanks heaps and sorry for these annoying questions.

I suggest Sweet Shot basketball for roughly $70-80 depending on the auction. You get 1 AU and 2 GU per box, and the autos are nice looking.

Then get a couple boxes of Topps Chrome for about $50-55 each. I just like Topps Chrome every year, they are a nice set and the inserts are rare enough that they are still valuable.

Then a box of Upper Deck Ultimate Collection for $300-325, 4 packs, 4 cards per pack: 1 auto, 1 patch, 1 serial numbered base, patch or base...

They have really nice swatches in Ultimate Collection, my favorite GUs I own are all Ultimate Collection.

And call it a day. I assume you meant 90-120 x 5 boxes = 450-600 to spend. But I could have been wrong.

I wouldn't get sweet shot, there really low end autos. I'd go with topps first row or Pristine out of 05-06

I agree about sweet shot. Also whatever you do NEVER buy boxes of ebay. They are cheaper because people buy cases, take out the boxes with the good stuff and sell the rest that have crap. There are many places you can buy boxes online for cheaper than hobby shops. Two places I can recommend too buy from are me :icon_smil or gamedaysportscards.com . My prices are usually a couple bucks cheaper but I am sold out of first row and he has the best price.

SP Authentic, SPx, First Row

If your looking for a nice base set, I recommend either hardcourt which also gets you and auto and a gu also for a decent price or rookie debut which gives you a nice base set, I believe 2 autos and plenty of rookies

Hey Thanks guys for your help i ended up getting a box of 04-05 Upper Deck Sp Authentic. Is it worth getting the 03-04 Upper Deck Sp Auth box? I might get that for my next box there is just too many lol. Again thanks for you help and ill let you guys know what i get.

The box of Sweet Shot I bought had a 1/1 Wooden in it, obviously I got lucky, but the cards are nice, and they arent junk like UD rookie debut or something like that. SPx, Topps Chrome, First Row if you can find it right now are good, Pristine is ok, but my experience with it was not good, 2 boxes of junk basically.

I really like Topps First Row and Topps Chrome. I bought 3 packs of First Row and got 3 rookies (Nate Robinson, Rashad McCants, & Ryan Gomes), McGrady Baseline insert #/149, and a 1/1 printing plate of Gasol, so I was pretty happy. I've bought like 35 packs of Topps Chrome and got a ton of refractors and decent rookie cards. I still haven't hit a Chris Paul Chrome, which has kinda pissed me off, lol. I have 2 of them incoming, which is sweet though.
