Wink What is PSA BGS BCCG Grading?

Hello, I am new to this considering I just started collecting sports cards again. The last card i ever bought was 13 years ago and therefore i am not aware of these "grading companies." I know PSA is the top notch grading compared to others but I just want some feedback on what other grading companies are out there. What does BGS and BCCG stand for and what other grading companies have i not mentioned that do "professional" grading. Lastly, does anyone recommend the best grading company to take your cards in and how much does it cost to send your card in for grading?

bgs and psa are by far the best, and i wouldn't buy a card from, or submit to any other companies...psa is better for vintage stuff, but beckett is better for newer stuff...they both hold a high standard for grading...it is pretty pricey (8-10 bucks a card or so)...so unless you have something that has a chance of being a gem mint card (psa 10, bgs 9.5) i dont find it worth the money(at least newer stuff - post 1990)....also not really worth it to send in non rookies or other very low end stuff...say you have a elway base card that books $5...even if you get it back slabbed a 9.5 or 10, it will only carry a value of $10 or so (which is what you paid to get it done!!)

i like grading for mid/high end rookies that in raw form, look perfect...i just got a 98 peyton manning finest rookie graded by beckett...raw it books for $30...got it graded gem mint 9.5 (all 9.5 sub grades)...the book on the graded card is $100....but bear in mind, that is only the case for bgs/psa grades...most people wouldn't put that premium on the other cheaper grading companies
here is the site for beckett grading...gives you EVERY bit of info you could want:
