Probably a bad title, since my attempts were a HORRIBLE failure lmao... I brought 10 balls with me to Busch Stadium after games 1 and 2 of the NLCS. I had heard the dodgers are "very fan friendly" so I made the trip downtown with a head full of hopes. Well after game 1, Greinke walked past us(there were only 4 graphers total). He had a ball in his hand, so my excitement was overflowing. But we're quickly dashed. He kept his head down, didn't sign for anyone! Then Magic Johnson walked out, turned down 2 auto requests, took a picture with ONE fan, then took off..everyone else got police escorts on golf carts n dipped into the Westin. Game 1 was looking like a total failure. As my wife, my son, and I are walking to our car I seen Andy Benes, so I asked him for his auto, and he was happy to sign for me! Cool guy, VERY well dressed, and very humble. He maintained eye contact, plenty of smiles and a hand shake. Fair enough, thank u Mr. Benes....so since I failed in game 1, I figured I'd try again. I thought I had failed for a few reasons. 1) they lost. 2) in 13 innings. 3) game didn't end til past midnight, and they had a 3pm game the next day...so I decided to try my luck again for Game 2...there isn't a long story here. NOONE came out. At all. They ALL got escorted on golf carts back to the Westin.... Ah well, nothing is gained without effort I suppose, it was worth the try! I won't try again for them. Hopefully the Cardinals advance so I can try to graph either the Tigers or Red Sox( I hope the Red Sox since their my favorite team since I was 9 and I'm 30 now lol)...I will update any attempts if it goes that way.
