I knew two guys who worked for UD. Basically, it's just like any other company from an employee perspective.

One friend was a software programmer; so they hired him on his software knowledge; nothing "fun" about his job at all. His salary was low and he left the company.

My other friend was a customer service rep; hired him based on general skills; nothing "fun" either. He didn't like it either & didn't like management.

They told me cool stories about the "secret" room where all the good stuff was. But after you see it a couple times, the novelty wears off.

Doesn't somebody on here work for one of them? Maybe Topps? Or did? He pretty much said the same thing. Pretty boring and the pay stunk for the amount of work they wanted you to do. I honestly don't get the appeal of somebody wanting to go into that field because it doesn't seem like it would be fun at all. Probably would have been more fun to work at Beckett in their heyday. Not the gimped down Beckett of today.

PS. I also had a friend who worked for PSA. He went to card shows & signings, and got to meet a bunch of athletes. His job was fun. But he didn't stay long because the pay was so low. Gotta pay the rent, bills, etc. "Fun" doesn't get that done.

So he didn't take bribe money to bump up the grades? He could have been rich!

Haha. I did get some cards graded for free though when he left. So at least I got something out of it.

(He wasn't in the grading dept. He was in the autograph / authentication dept.)
