More Racial Attacks

A previous post was closed because a moderator did not like the article about the "knockout game". I don't know if this is the same thing, but it is another attack that looks to be racially motivated.

A 62-year-old man who was brutally attacked in Union Square last week died Monday. On Wednesday, a man shouting that he “hated white people” punched victim Jeffrey Babbitt — who is white — in the face, witnesses said, causing him to fall and strike his head on the ground.

Lashawn Marten, 31, who is black, “made statements to the effect that I’m going to punch the first white man that I see,” said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.

The second attack in NY was on a bus.

An attacker pummeled a bus passenger so hard he smashed the bones in his face after calling the victim a “cracker” in Manhattan – marking the second time in two days that people appeared to be randomly targeted in racial tirades against white people, authorities said.
In the latest incident, the suspect passed a 31-year-old rider on the M60 bus riding through Harlem, on West 127th Street, between Amsterdam Avenue and Morningside Drive, around 2:45 p.m., Friday, when he shouted the racial slur and punched the victim in the face, breaking his nose and eye socket, cops said.

The victim was treated for facial fractures at New York Presbyterian Hospital and released, police said.

I am sure I'll be called a racist again for daring to point out these race-based attacks, but so be it.

There are mant racially motivated attacks that have not gained the world wide status that Trayvon Martin got.Then again the President stepped into the MArtin case with his personal views which brought on MORE national attention.But now the commander in chief is too busy with world war 3 to care about the public.

Sadly, it seems there will always be racism on all sides. I've known racist whites, racist blacks, racist Asians - the whole spectrum.

I've also known respectful people of all races who don't go around making almost everything about race even when it's not the issue.

It appears you are upset over biased coverage (Martin case, etc.) and then respond with racially focused coverage yourself. I'd think most people, even on an Internet card forum, recognize there is racism all around, even if they mis-categorize it at times.

What do you expect from these threads?

It seems like these attacks are happening much more frequently. Why are they happening and what can be done to stop them?

Broken families and bad upbringings in many cases. Lack of education and lack of emphasis on education. People looking to blame others for their own problems. People not seeking help when they do have problems.

I also know African-Americans who are brought up well in two-parent households, are well-educated, responsible, and do well in the community. They don't have a blame-whites attitude.

So clearly it's not the color. It's the environment, and I laid out some specifics above to help explain it more concretely.

Durant, I think you're being a little unfair. When attacks come with racial epithets, it is about race, little else.

That is why I mentioned there are those who are racist against whites, blacks, etc. and even mentioned there are those who have a blame-whites attitude. I thought that was made pretty clear in my posts.

Maybe because he is a conservative, and conservatives do NOT like talking about white on black attacks, only when it's vice versa, then they throw their hands in the air and pretend as if it's just as equal as white on black attacks.

Unfortunately that is NOT the case.

But I digress, there is no doubt that racism is very much alive on BOTH sides.....if conservatives just admitted that, then we could do something about it.

All valid points. I think the destruction of the two-parent family in our society has been devastating, especially in the black community. Another huge factor is no work. I've seen articles where the black teen unemployment rate is over 40% while the white rate is 20%. We have kids that want to work, but no jobs. And what does our government focus on? Amnesty for illegals.

Who else would do it? People like you and the MSM pretend these attacks don't occurr and that black on white racism doesn't exist. Then fabricate and sensationalize stories about White Hispanics stalking black kids and shooting them in cold blood.
