    Hi everyone

Just got started collecting NFL cards, it is the only sport I pay attention to. Ideally I'd like to collect my favorite team and either trade or sell the other cards to help keep the collection going. I noticed there are several types of NFL cards even by the same company. Like Topps for example, there is a NFL blaster box, NFL Finest hobby box, and NFL Chrome hobby box. I'm assuming the cards sold at Target and Walmart are undesireable for collectors? Any help with which cards I should collect or avoid would be most helpful as I start out. Thanks

    Hi,

Welcome to the forum! Yes you are correct usually the cards sold at Target are retail products which are cheaper and "less desirable" than the hobby products.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a list somewhere of online card shops? Maybe a few places that have good prices on boxes?

I collected cards from target for many years before I realized they were not as good as from shops.. recently ive gotten really into collecting football cards and collect my favorite team as well.. you can go to topps or Panini websites and search for a store locator or even shop online.. they also have pack sales here on this site.. hobby packs may cost slightly more but it is well worth it.. welcome to the site and have fun!

Probably would be best to try places like http://www.dacardworld.com/ for the cheapest boxes. I don't really buy stuff online so I'm not a good person to ask but there are others that I'm sure people can help you out with but that's a good place to start.
