Most Jersey Cards: Same Player ~ Same Card?

Years ago, I got hooked on buying boxes of mixed packs (16 packs for $19) which promised two jersey cards per box. Of course, the jersey cards were not unknown cards in the packs, but rather two cards, hand selected, and placed in a small envelope inside the box. The company selling the cards had opened tons of product (no doubt looking for hot RCs) and had lots of jersey cards to get rid of. As expected they dumped the least desirable ones into the boxes.

I began to think some UD jersey cards had to be DP'd because I kept getting the same ones in my boxes, but I kept buying. As a result I now have:

02-03 UD MVP Souveniers: Joe Nieuwendyk - 6 copies (all white!)

05-06 Upper Deck Game Jersey: Stanislav Chistov - 6 copies (1 is 2-color)

06-07 Upper Deck Game Jersey: Sergei Samsonov - 14 copies (1 is 2-color, 11 are blue)

What is the highest number of copies you have of the same jersey card? (and why so many)

2006-07 The Cup Limited Logos Bill Ranford. I've got 14 of them :) Only reason I don't have more, is that no more have poped up for a price I like.


In all seriousness though, never had it happen.... where I've pulled multiples of the same jersey card.

I have 5 copies of Kyle Turris' Rookie Materials jersey card from 08-09 UD. While I was still trying to super collect Turris, I decided I wanted one of each colour of that card, figuring I'd need a white one, maroon one, and a white/maroon two-colour one. I have each of those, plus a black one and a navy blue one, for 5 total. I assume the black and blue ones were errors. Same player, same card, but I suppose each one is unique enough that I can't come anywhere close to your 14 copies of the Samsonov Game Jersey, lol.

2008-09 Upper Deck Champ's Mini Signatures #CSSF Drew Stafford (I pack pulled 5 of them and I didn't buy more than 6 boxes as loose packs)

That is a lot of Samsinov's! Back in the day seemed he was going to be a big star, than I don't know what happened to him, just seemed to fade away....

I currently have 5 11-12 Lars Eller UD game jerseys, 1 white, 2 blue and 2 red. 1 wanted one of each color for my pc, and ended up with 2 extras one that I pulled and another that was thrown into a trade, because of a damaged card. I also had 3 10-11 Eller Sign of the times, it just seemed like everybody had one, and was willing to part with it, I've since traded 1 away.

I believe ive bought the same boxes or similar to what youre talking about, from Wal-Mart. Everytime we pulled either Chistov or Samsonov.. lol they are gone now as it was a while ago.

13x 02-03 Titanium Patches /250 with Johan Hedberg...

Why?
Well I'm a hoarder plus collects color-variations or if it's reasonably priced so why not?

I also thiks that I have 7x or 10-11 BTP Jersey Black with Barrasso...but all got different colors!

I recall seeing tons of those "guaranteed two jerseys per box" being opened and revealing a Samsonov jersey in nearly every box. But I'm pretty sure they were usually 05-06 Series 2 jerseys, meaning this company must have gone all out in their Samsonov GU acquiring.

And seeing as this thread has taken on a bit of a hoarding idea, I'll put it out there that I have 133/925 of the 03-04 SPx Antoine Vermette Auto Jersey RC's. If you have one, let me know!
