Well my dad and Mo's brother worked together for a few years. My dad was his senior, so helped worked/mentored him. Additionally, Mo's brothers soon to be wife was from my neighborhood, so my family knew her family.
My dad told me he was going to show up one day. He did give me a ball signed with him, Soriano and some others, so I at least knew he had the connection. The Yankees happen to be in Baltimore (I live in Delaware), and Mo had to come up and get fitted for a tux for his brother's wedding.
My dad tells me he was going to stop by around 11ish. I was 22 years old at that time and that stage of my life was chasing girls and partying all the time. I was always an autograph collector, but was not prepared. So my dad wakes me up before he comes over. I'm ready sitting on the edge of the bed and hear a beep. I look out to a tinted Mercedes. So I run downstairs excited!
I'm thinking how can this be real. I open my garage door to them coming though. I was like I have Mo frickin Rivera walking into my house. So he comes in and autographs my hat (BTW I'm a die-hard Red Sox fan lol). We take a couple pictures and then us four go outside and talk. Then my dad and his brother leaves for us to hang out. Mo and I talked mostly about life for the next 15 minutes with a little baseball here and there. He stayed about a total of 30 minutes.
Needless to say, I wish I would of had more. I sent to him in ST last year, but did not get anything back!

You can probably get help identifying some of those graphs by posting pics in this forum, or just googling the roster from '04-'09.
Love it! Your post should be moved from this "regrets thread" to an "all-time greatest IP thread". That's awesome! You got a 'gift' from him, an auto, and a PRICELESS pic. Thanks for sharing.

I had the chance to meet Kathy Ireland in person during a work trip. I knew that sometime during the week I would eventually have a chance to see her and have time to even get a signature. I had printed off a couple of photos and would love to have gotten them signed. The issue was is that the trip was in Vegas and to be honest we were on like day 4 when I was told that she was down in furniture display room and that we could go down and meet her and get signatures. I really was just too tired and hung over to go all they way back to the room and back. I did meet here and get a photo of us along with a signed index card, but man an autographed photo would have been great!

Barack Obama gave a talk in my tiny little midwestern town on his re-election tour. I doubted I'd even be able to get in and just simply wanted to catch a glimpse of the president. My high school social studies teacher, who I'm close with, had first row seats and invited me to come with her. Afterwards, the president made a lap around the crowd shaking hands and his handlers took items from people who wanted autographs. Not thinking I'd even get in the doors nor that the president would take time to sign, I didn't have an item on me.

Louis CK. I was with some comedians during Just for Laughs Chicago in 2009 and he came into the restaurant briefly. I didn't even think to get a photo with him until after he was long gone.

I went to graph the Capitals at the Nassau Coliseum, and the Caps had all finished making the walk/drive from the hotel across the street to the Coliseum. I put away all my Capitals graphing gear and began the walk back to the Coliseum to graph the Isles. (Before I finish the story, keep in mind the star players get an escort to avoid crazed fans). Halfway through the lot, I saw a man in a scarf and sunglasses jogging towards the arena. It was Alex Ovechkin! All I had on me was a Troy Brouwer card, and for some reason, I thought I could make it to my car and back before he was out of sight. I was wrong. By the time I returned to the arena, Ovi was gone.

I just regret alot of the times I had a chance to get someone, but wasn't sure who they were. I'm not one to not be sure of who a guy is and have to be like are you so and so. That's just embarrassing and kind of rude. Cause some guys you can't tell right away. It wasn't always a bad thing, sometimes I'd sit back and just watch to see who is who and then next time I'd be set.
Also don't like how I sent alot of requests that never came back. At one point when the postage changed I had sent out loads of requests. Then of course stamp price changes. I'd gladly pay the extra postage if something did come back. But not sure why alot didn't come back. Maybe cause I sent to spring training and mail isn't handled as well as it could be or maybe some other reason. That's just annoying how you put $ and cards into something and lose out.

My biggest regret so far is from this years NLCS at Busch Stadium, after Game 1...my wife, son, and I were all standing by Gate 3 (where the visitors exit), and all of a sudden I see Magic Johnson! Kinda overwhelmed, I told my wife "OMG, I think that's Magic", but no one noticed. I turn back around to approach him, and he was already swamped with people. He didn't sign at all, but he did take a picture with the first person to notice him!! That coulda been me!!! Greinke also walked rite past me, ball in hand, but I didn't recognize him at all! STUPID ME!!!

My wife and I drove 6 hours to Boston for the Red Sox parade this weekend. I had thoughts of bringing baseballs to get signed, but thought no chance as the city would be mobbed. We get there around 8:30pm Friday night and check into out room before heading out to dinner.
We get to the lobby and walk out to the doors and two people get out of a tinted SUV. As the person in the back seat gets out, I notice its Will Middlebrooks. He gets out with his head down and all I could muster up was asking him how he was doing and he said "great man." My wife was wondering who I was talking to haha.
Then we go out to dinner and as we are coming back towards the hotel, I notice someone taking pictures with another person. Being very aware of my surroundings like usually I head towards the restaurant exit where they were standing. As the person is walking down the steps with multiple people after the pictures I notice it's John Lackey. We walk by him and I congratulate him and he said "Thank you."
I guess I should have brought a baseball or asked for a picture :(
