2013-14 Prizm Parallel Questions - Many Of Them
I am a little confused (what else is new?)
Now, it appears from reading a post of Ed's. (Sluggo), there is a varying degree of coloured parallel based on where the cards are purchased at retail.
Toys R Us (sorry but I don't have the software for a backwards "R") -
Target -
Walmart -
I have seen Orange Parallels. Are these Hobby - Purple Cracked Ice?
I have seen single packed Green Parallels - Are these Retail?
I have seen Blasters - Green Parallels both pulled and packed.
I think I have seen Orange Rack-Pack parallels ? Yes/No ?
Where do the following colour parallels fit?
Green, Blue, Red. ??
Could somebody do a proper flow-chart and inform us all as to where to find all of these parallels, and must separate purchases be made at 3 or 4 different Retailers for the Coloured Red, Blue, and Green ??
Which of the Orange, Red, Blue, and Green are the rarest? Are some Serial numbered?
Are Purple Cracked Ice a Redemption? or can they be pack-pulled.
Now the last question. Are these parallels and their colours by retailer the same in both the USA and Canada ?
Thanks in advance.Last edited by centrehice; 10-10-2013 at 01:07 AM.

OK. Here's my kick at the can:
Base
Prizm (Refractor) (Hobby)
Orange Prizm Die-Cut /50 (Hobby)
Gold Prizm /10 (Hobby)
Finite Prizm 1/1 (Hobby)
Blue Prizm (3-card bonus pack in Wal-Mart Blasters; also in Blaster packs)
Blue Pulsar Prizm (3-card bonus pack in Wal-Mart Rack Packs)
Red Prizm (3-card bonus pack in Target Blasters; also in Blaster packs)
Red Pulsar Prizm (3-card bonus pack in Target Rack Packs)
Green Prizm (Found in all retail packs including Blasters and Rack Packs)
Purple Cracked Ice Prizm (Via wrapper redemption)
I think that's everything......for now.

I think Derek's got it right here.
Target's got the Reds, Wal-Mart's got the Blues, and you can get the Greens from either at retail level.
Purple Cracked Ice are available via redemption for 25 hobby packs.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Thanks guys, that helps a lot.
The only question not answered is this:
Canada and USA Retail - all pertinent or only the USA retail ?
BTW: I have been in 4 Walmart Super Stores, not one Hockey card of any description for years now. Mind you, this is Oregon and they are all Hillbillies.

Heh...same with Wal-Marts in AZ, except the Hillbillies are Rednecks

You nailed it. Dead on. Targets and Wal-Marts in the US and Canada will have the same content. The only thing I'd add is there are blasters for other retailers such as Toys R Us and others that will contain 3 card Green Prizm bonus packs rather than the red bonuses found at Target and blue bonuses found at Wal-Mart.

What about distinct rareness of each parallel, and serial numbers.
Somebody want to take a shot at that? Any Pull-Odds that have been given, etc.

I don't really like how they now make parallel per retail store chain. To me this is pushing the marketing way to far just to make you step into a specific chain. I think retail should remain the same and all retail should be able to have the same product. One thing I hate is when a marketing department take customer into what chain want by doing such thing. I remember coding for a client that was inventor and distributor of specific product and how chain make them crawl on the ground with a margin of profit that make no sense. Make no sense to me that these big chain get more and more of what they want so your product hit the floor. Again the distributor or fabricator are often down on their knees since it's that or no item on their store.
But that is me. Just hate how it's seem to be hitting the card market as well.

I completely disagree. Look at the Pacific Paramount 99-00 Holo-Emerald parallels. They were only available at 7-11's in Canada. When they came out and kids back home found out that these parallels were only available at 7-11 Canada outlets, they went crazy. It increased Pacifics card profile, and 7-11 were never busier.
It's all about economics and profit.
