A small Winnipeg Jet GU/Patch card rant :/

Ok, so the Jets version 2.0 is now starting their 3rd session and yet U.D is still using Thrashers uniforms for their cards. Latest case in point, at least 13/14 Artifacts has 3 Jets, Wheeler, Little, and Pavelec, but all the nice patch cards are baby blue and yellow, which for me completely kills the cards. I asked my LCS owner, a U.D dealer about it and he said yeah, you may never see a new Jets GU/Patch as the Jets charge $1500.00 for a jersey and U'd Refuses to pay such a ridiculous price!

Personally, in the big picture of things,I think it only hurts the Jets ability to market themselves in the sports card venue, which would be somewhat significant. I did get a Sick Hawerchuk Artifacts dual patch/15 from his old school Jets jersey, which had me stoked to get the new guys, especially Wheeler, but with a Thrasher JS, forget it. A shame because the new Jersey's would make for some filthy patch cards.

Anyone have Chipman's # lol, actually I think I will call our local TSN radio affiliate, which almost talks Jets 24/7 and get the word out.

Ya its quite frustrating. Makes me wonder where the shields will come from for the dual shield auto Kane and Byfuglien redemption im waiting on.

Not sure, could be 2 answers, one, for a 7th pick like Scheifele UD forked out some $$$ for a Gamer RC ARP for such a high end product like The Cup, or like you said a photo shoot Jersey. My guess the latter, could be wrong but I have never seen any Cup ARP's with puck marks etc. Actually I am not so sure, sorta wonder why UD doesn't just go to Reebok and buy a few jerseys...This is just me, I could less if a player gets his stink on a jersey, in a game or photo shoot, I just want a nice looking card. Pretty certain I am in the minority on that though.

That's gotta kill Jets collectors, not being able to get the new jerseys in regular issues without having to go high-end like The Cup.

The card companies are gonna use what they have. Using the basic UD size, you could probably get hundreds of swatches out of a single jersey. They're not gonna toss a Thrashers jersey aside and not use it.

There are a couple of Panini products that do use Jets memorabilia from the current team. Prime, especially, had some awesome pieces in it.

The companies will tend to use up whatever existing memorabilia stock they have before splurging again on getting a new gamer, especially if the above statement that the Jets charge $1,500 for a gamer and don't grant exceptions to the card licensees.

Yes I stand corrected, senility is sneaking now that I am 40..oy! Actually for some reason I usually associate Dominion with U.D, just reminds me more an UD product than the Panini stuff...but yes, some nice Prime Jets cards for sure.
